I have enjoyed some of your other flip-throughs, but this video is a pointless ramble about the physical quality of a book. Have you used BRP . . . is it a good system . . . what are the quirks of a d100 based system? This is not a review.

I think you deploy characters first then decide which card to play as the deployments of your enemy may affect your choice. I do love how you are constantly recalculating your odds based on those deployments, the actions of your card and potential powers of their card - plus the roll of the die! Lots of covering your base or going all in! It’s like Air Land Sea plus dice rolls!
@TabletopGamingGuildКүн бұрын
That is Correct. The first step in the turn is deploy unit, roll die, play card then score. I personally ended up replacing the game with critters at war. Which is air, land and sea with a different to theme. Not exactly sure why it was we just play that more now though

Woah! I can only imagine the frustration. That comparison to a 10th level D&D character with level 1 HP; that would be rough.

I played the first edition of The One Ring, back when it was being published by Cubicle 7. It was definitely unique and did a good job of capturing the flavor of Tolkien's works, both with the material and mechanically. That said, combat was a hot mess, especially in long campaigns. Particularly dire was that while the PC's ability to dish out damage grew significantly, their ability to take incoming damage barely changed at all. The result was the equivalent of having a party of 10th level D&D characters who only had 1st level hitpoints and the AC of a 3rd level party. All those fancy stances went unused because leaving Defensive Stance was suicide. The GM had a nightmare trying to compose combat encounters because either the party would instantly annihilate them or they'd TPK us with very little room in between. Hopefully 2nd Edition fixed this; after the campaign none of us really wanted to touch the game again for a long time despite its other virtues.

Thx for sharing. If you’re playing solo vs other AI cars, do the Garage rules offer a way to distribute the cards?

Man, I've been waiting so long that someone takes the awesome Palm Island concept and makes something bigger with it. And then they make it a legacy game that you can only throw in the bin aftterwards. What a shame!

The game only cost $14 dollars and gives 6 to 8 hours of game play. Which is an amazing value. If I want to play it again I will and have just bought it again.
@FalkFlakАй бұрын
Until it's sold out and oop. p.S. The price really is not the problem here, this time (even if there are great $15-20 non-legacy games).

I'm also intruiged by legacy games but I'm also in the minority of thinking about my fellow gamers and give games away to friends. There are ecological questions of wasted material also, yada yada.. and .. in the end.. they could easily design those games for repeated use. So there is always a sour taste with legacy games on multiple levels and it's almost impossible to argue pro customer.

I don't know if that's the "right" way to play. First in 5:57 it makes more sense to get the health, because the health and the damage is calculated at the end of a room. So even if you have 10 full health now, maybe you don't have them at the end when you also hitted enemies. And second (I'm not 100% sure about that one) at 6:42 you go first 1 east and then 3 south. I think the rule book (bigger one in pdf on website) says, that you have to follow the initial direction if possible. So after 1 east and 1 south you have to continue with 2 east.
@TabletopGamingGuildАй бұрын
yeah not sure either. There are several strategies you can use but the next roll can mess everything up

Nice to watch, though I realised at 1:22:30 when Nathan was attacked, after the first attack defenders can immediately re-arm their markers used on shields for 1 energy each allowing him to activate the shields again in any subsequent attacks. Attackers don't get to re-arm until their status phase, which is why using more than 1 marker in a single attack can be more beneficial than in separate attacks (2 die vs 1, instead of 1 vs 1 in separate attacks)

I take umbridge with the inconsistant wording of "remove it" included in the leaflet because it doesn't elaborate. Playing it so that the trap goes back to my hand feels too easy, but discarding it feels unfair.
