Thank you! I bought an Imagine when they came out as the new top-of-the-line. I'm annoyed that the shop that sold it to me didn't give me this video because I actually learned from this video and I've been sewing on my machine for years. It figures that shop went under with shoddy practices like that. One thing I did learn, the expensive way, was that you MUST line up the green marks on the hand wheel BEFORE you try to thread those needles or you will break off the little hook and have no needle threader. I feel for the folks who've had bad experiences with their dealers here because I know that Babylocck is very particular about who sells their machines. I guess they drop their standards once you get into the areas of a country where there's not enough dealers to make a conpetitive market like in larger cities. 😟

I was recently gifted with an Imagine, it was also purchased when they were first brought to the market! I haven't used it yet, and this was a great video to help me get familiar with this new to me machine!

I inherited a Baby Lock Imagine and have had a few issues with it. However, the instructions in this video are much more helpful than reading through the manual, and I see that some of those issues are likely due to threading wrongly because the drawings in the manual are unclear or misleading. Actually seeing the machine in action brings the flat drawings, photos and explanations to life. I feel like this machine can be my friend now instead of my nemesis. Thank you!

I am having bird nest problem with the top string on the bottom of my design...I followed the directions as to change needle and threaded the machine again. I had to move my tension all the way to 8 to get this almost corrected. Is this customary? Will I have to do this for every different design? Artista 180 I bought it used.

interesting... the local dealer sold this to me today as latest and greatest. now i find out on the net it's 20 year old model and going to be discontinued?.... i was in a tight spot -- current machine broke in middle of project due tomorrow (100 napkins and wedding paraphernalia to match) so needed a machine just to 'cover' till i could get the other serviced. way over priced for a twenty year old model, prices on these machines are insane. my other has worked for thirty years without so much as a hiccup till today. they know they have you so they stick it to you... not so much as additional needles as a thank you for spending near 2k. only dealer around too. ah well, break over, back to work. napkins won't roll he themselves.

I have had my babylock imagine for approximately 3 years and this is the most helpful video I've seen regarding its use and maintenance. Thank you so much. I'm trying to use my babylock to its fullest capabilities while teaching myself to sew. I was fortunate enough to purchase a used one that included ALL of the specialty presser feet, instruction manual, rolling bag and extra thread cones. I will save this video for future use because I only sew occasionally. Maybe this new information will help me with my confidence and make sewing even more pleasurable.

More like the 90's. This is a rip of the original VHS tape that came with the machine. I did not produce it, just digitized and uploaded it so others could also view. I have no affiliation with Baby Lock.

I bought a 180 used. I'm having trouble with the bobbin. The sensor detects a problem and beeps. I cannot locate any dust or thread that is causing problems. The bobbin appears to be threaded correctly. It sews beautifully. But I cannot turn off the error beep unless I leave the bobbin door open. Is there any other way to disengage the warning beep (which seems to be flawed)?

Martha Myers if you touch the boxed arrow to the right of your ‘smart’ button you will see a box saying beeper tap on that and you will be able to turn off the beeper for the lower thread.

KZbin videos by "JoeKind1958" show excellent Bernina information. He has two videos that address the bobbin sensor for Models 200 and 730 (same as 180). The are dated Sep 2013, so look for his older posts.

Doesn't start at the beginning.ie should start with un boxing and plugging in power cables, foot controller etc. Misses out some other simple instructions. Ok if you have sewn before. Not for total beginner.

Better than nothing. I bought this awesome machine years ago, then was unable to sew for years. I’m trying to go back to sewing with my machine. I have an extra bag of accessories, all kinds of floppy discs, and have no idea what I’m doing. This is going to take some time. But from what I remember from using it before, (I did a wall hanging with an embroidered letter title) it was easy to catch on as I went along. And the book helps a lot too. If you know if any more great vids, please share. As I write this we are in the pandemic so I won’t be attending any classes anytime soon. Also have never found any classes by me for years once quilting took a back seat. Thanks and happy sewing everyone!

@@alexalessllc.7745 The manual is okay, but the photos are low resolution so they get fuzzy/pixelated very quickly when one attempts to enlarge them for a closer look. Also, the threading sections do not clearly show some of the steps and make it look like one has to remove that little upper cover in order to get the needle threads behind it... I had NO IDEA that one is supposed to simply run the thread through the slots around it, and I am quite sure this was the cause of at least 90% of the issues I have had with my machine. This video was MUCH more helpful than the manual, and I will come back to it again and again as I expand the types of stitches I use on my machine.

It would be extraordinarily helpful if BABY LOCK'S video production/camera people would photograph the hook behind the needle in A GIANT CLOSE PICTURE OF IT. Visual learners like me learn this even more rapidly. TKS!
