Putting a tree or building in the middle foreground leads to boring compositions. Learn about composition and your pictures will improve.

Karen has a lot to say and should’ve been a writer instead. The more you say with words, the less successful and exciting your visual work is.

Wow. Fabulous. Very impressive vibe and photos. Not all successful but some are swell. Music superb. Monhegan! Keep on shooting. Very interesting. Some of my best were just no plans no ideas. Really enjoyed this. I see a lot of channels and this is quite special.

I found LA the ugliest city I ever lived! Sure Westwood was better but so are any rich, wealthy areas even in 3 rd World. Lived mostly in NewPort Beach Ca. Big whoopie! Except for the Pacific and some beaches.. Oh! LA is not at the sea! 40 miles inland...Looking at these images, the desolation so apparent.

I have got a copy of the book. I draws me back to it time and again. I'm not sure what magic Mark put in it, but it's always a fascinating book to view.

I love your photos and the perspective you have on the locations. I’m curious, what made you choose black and white as opposed to color?

Helpful explanation of the four ecologies, with Fire creating a fifth. The Mike Davis reference broadens too.
