Syd Barett had the wrong friends!!! He lived in a shared flat and they took too many drugs. Syd continued to take drugs when he made his two solo albums. A sad story for Syd and his family. He failed as a painter and musician.

Ich denke seine schlechte Zeit hat in seiner Wohngemeinschaft angefangen in der Syd gelebt hat.. Er hang zuviel mit den Junkies ab.. Leider kam jede Hilfe zu spät.. Nick Mason hat mal gesagt: Wir haben das Problem ignoriert !! Roger Waters hat mal gesagt : Wir haben Syd Barett mit dem Auto 🚙 zum Psychiater gefahren.. Er ist aber nicht aus dem Auto 🚙 gestiegen !!! In der Familie Barrett gab es einen Arzt. Der hat gesagt es ist alles in Ordnung.. Nichts ist oder war in Ordnung.. Mit 24 Jahren war Syd ein kranker Mensch.. Die Psychiatrie war damals noch nicht soweit.. Syd Barett war damals noch nicht bereit für eine Therapie... Eine echte Tragödie!!! Ich weiß nicht unter welchem Krankheitsbild Syd gelitten hat ???? Die Familie Barrett erzählt nichts darüber.. Mich interessiert wie Syd mit seiner Krankheit gelebt hat ??? Leider gibt es keine Bücher mehr in deutscher Sprache.. Syd ist als Maler und Musiker gescheitert..

Syd Barett received help from David G. for his two solo albums... The recordings turned out to be very difficult!!! Syd continued to take drugs!!! He was not in a good state... Syd was on the verge of schizophrenia!! He should have been eating apples and oranges instead... Syd had the wrong friends!!! Sad story for Syd and his family... I am interested in how he lived with the illness for the rest of his life... Unfortunately there are no more books about Syd in Germany...

They tried so hard to be cutting edge with these 60s British counter-culture art films. No story, no plot. No talent. . *sigh* And Iggy the Inuit appears in far too many of them really doing nothing but being herself.

I've been thinking this through. My theory is that Syd went from an internal 'locus of control' to an external 'locus of control' [read the following en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locus_of_control ]. During 1963-1967 he seemed to have an internal 'locus of control'. So, if you have an external 'locus of control', you have a tendency to 'not care in doing anything' because your destiny depends on other factors. A lot of people have an external locus, the wikipedia article explains it well. It probably was triggered by the fact that he couldn't control the Industry nor his buddies/bandmates. This explains why he didn't care to try other things (other bands, or painting) to get by. He even 'stayed in bed'. By the december 11th 1967, it had been 6 years since his father had passed away (another event that had happened outside his locus of control). That event may have added to the effect. This theory also explains why he could not develop himself further after 1967 and stayed in the not-grown-up behaviour that Peter Jenner mentions (or not taking seriously anything). He didn't bother to say anything about his behaviour.

David and Roger both have their own unique claims to greatness. Roger was a brilliant songwriter and visionary, and Dave was an off-the-charts inspiring performing guitarist. But at the end of the day, I think people identify more with David's inspiring performance than they do the idea of Roger's songwriting. I don't think as many people were inspired to pick up a bass after hearing Roger as they were to pick up a guitar after hearing David. Maybe that's a large part of why Roger is so bitter toward Dave.
