After Bennett Cerf died, Phylliss married Robert Wagner Jr, the son of former 3-term New York City Mayor Robert Wagner Sr.

@@RonGerstein Slight correction , Both Wagners were in politics. Robert F. Wagner Jr. was mayor of New York. She married the former mayor. (See below From a January 31st 1975 )Newspaper . Phylliss’s Father in law was a Senator , lieutenant Governor of New York and sat on the New York Assembly. Phyllis Cerf and Wagner are married NEW YORK (AP) - Former Mayor Robert F. Wagner and Phyllis Cerf, widow of publisher Bennett Cerf, plan a honeymoon in Barbados. Thanks very much for posting this. I just finished reading At Random: The Reminiscences of Bennett Cerf. Excellent read, wonderful man. What prompted me to read Bennett's autobiography were the three biographies of other people I read earlier this year in which Bennet unexpectedly made an appearance (the last one being Carly Simon's autobiography, Boys in the Trees). Bennett seemed to know everybody who was anybody back in the day. I was born the year of this interview, so my introduction to Bennett was his regular appearance on What's My Line? but there was obviously a lot more to the man.

I hated Bennett Cerf's "puns" said to John Charles Daly on What's My Line.
