Everyone cmplaining about inconsistencies and the inaccuracies between Ben's explanation and the truth, combined with the Prequels, seems to be forgetting a simple question: Why in the world would Ben Kenobi *ever* want to tell Luke how evil his father became? At this point in the story, Kenobi doesn't ever expect Luke to run into Vader, and so he left out details and, yes, flat out lied to avoid destroying Luke's image of himself and his father, who was Luke's hero.

"Why didn't you tell me Vader was my father?" "I'm sorry for protecting you from the knowledge that your father helped bring about the fall of the Republic and the Jedi Orser, and is directly and indirectly responsible for the murder of billions. Would you have even believed me?"

When Luke said “you fought in the clone wars” and it shows the battle of utapau, you should have also put in as audio (because you weren’t showing animated scenes) in the young Jedi arc of clone wars when the younglings say “THE general kenobi?!”

Imagine if this was the original scene in a new Hope when it was first released. It could be like those Disney movies where they show flashbacks, but those are part of that movie and not some prequel that is released years later as a backstory. It would show us what Luke’s father looked like and obi wan when he was younger, along with their friendship. It would also show Vader before the black helmet and armor, when he was much younger. Only problem is that we could then see that anakin and Vader are the same, and that would ruin the plot twist in empire strikes back, unless we don’t pay attention and just assume that they are similar looking characters. Although it would be really cool to see flashbacks of young vader after seeing him in the opening scene and seeing black armor Vader for the rest of the movie, when obi wan talks about Vader then to be consistent and not reveal that Vader is anakin they would have to show the scene where he gets his armor after the Mustafar fight. That would also show the emperor, which would reveal some mystery about who he is and suggest that there’s another villain behind Vader. The emperor is mentioned in the movie, but it doesn’t confirm that the hooded character in the flashback of Vader is him. It would be confirmed later in empire strikes back that this guy is the emperor, since we see a hologram of him - unless the emperor is not clearly shown in the Vader flashback. He would be shown, but possibly not very clearly, until we see him up close in return of the Jedi. We then conclude that was him since he is Vaders master. And then, in return of the jedi, when obi wan tells Luke that his father was seduced to the dark side and ceased to be anakin becoming Vader, it shows the flashbacks of anakin being evil. That would be a nice way to set the original trilogy, and then in the prequels we see these scenes happening as part of a story instead of just flashbacks that make you wonder what the old life was like while providing certain parts of context.

Obi Wan's story is very painful and heartbreaking

Anakin wouldn’t have became that if it wasn’t for Padme because he tried saving her life because he had visions of her dying and Palpatine said that he could stop people from dying if you join the Darkside so Anakin did it for Padme , but Obi-Wan found out and almost killed him.
