Oh, the joys of pike fishing. I, my son, and grandson were joined by two others on the River Trent for a day's fishing. A total of ten rods between us produced no runs or any indication at all . This is our third successive blank, but hope springs eternal. Next week perhaps?

Don’t get dispirited Mark had 3 nice low doubles on short river session this morning and lost 2 more 6 takes. This on the back of 2 blanks. Sure it will come good in 2025. 👍🎣

Great video as usual... been in the same position with the number of blanks.... really frustrating. On a separate note, what bite alarms are you using?

You can say that again we are going out to same river weekend but different part but big pike over 40 pounds in it hopefully we get one or two

String of blanks here too, with a dose of flu to keep me away from the water. In the early autumn pike were nicking my fish left, right and centre. Now the same swims are dead as a dodo. It happens, best for '25.

I had 3 blanks on the bounce then the last 2 sessions had a 2 20+ so how quickly it can change 😂

It seems a similar story all over as far as piking is concerned mate. I'm on a run of 3 blanks too (3rd one today) and talking to others, most say they are struggling so you're not on your own.... happy New Year

It’s a tough game sometimes mate. In November I did 6 blanks in a row but was rewarded with a pb 22.2 That magic 30 could be your next bite. Happy new year.

Hi Mark, your doing a lot better than me mate, I`m 74 and wanting to get out piking but my mind is happy to get out but my body is knackered and all my old fishing mates are dead but i will soon, a happy new year Mark. ( Les).

The banks had been closed a week or so ago. I thought it was due another outbreak of bird flue.

Now Mate I have some good news for you I am off the mark myself for the season I caught a lovely little girl of a pike at 4lb and she was feisty as hell when I was trying to photograph her she jumped out of the net and back in the river
