Most people today do not realize that years ago Menard was actually two prison. Menard General Division & Menard Psychiatric Division. They are separated by a large gate. But were two different Prison. I worked in the Menard Psychiatric Division. This was in the 1970's. We housed 450 if the State's most mentally ill inmates. I could tell you what some of these guys were in there far but it would make you loose your lunch.

Too bad these guys had to end up in a cage before they learned how to live like a human being. Once you kill folks it kind of goes down hill quickly. Decisions you make live with you. Wake up before you find yourself in your own cage. Sometimes it lasts a lifetime.

and this is news? Short of special forces medics most basic trained medics are about EMT 2 level. The Armys 91c 1 yr long course qualified you to test for the LPN level in the 70s and 80s. Used that a a pathway to paramedic and a BSN/RN.

This is grossly over exaggerated. Most programs have been dropped in Illinois State prison. In most of the prison in mates cannot even get art supplies anymore. The only thing gonna lower staff assaults is for the staff to treat the iates like adult humans instead of like adolecent animals. We have more law's protecting animals in the state of Illinois than inmates....ie...heat

This title is very misleading! Staff assaults on officers are through the roof in the state of Illinois! It's just a matter of time before there are more riots or murdered officers Behind These dangerous walls. A lot of programs can be good for inmates but don't thanks for a second that staff assaults are down because that is highly false!

Hate to say it but the field medics do more than combat medics. combat medics are emt basics not paramedic. But what I learned in paramedic school was a lot more than what the army taught. combat medics do some primary care but paramedics are more all around trauma and acute care.

My life will be incomplete until I get a relationship with the Army together. I would love to spend a lot of time with them and I consider that a necessity. Their safety is also a necessity.
