I love the reference from stuntman69 where one of his videos he told his dad the “ceiling fan” wasn’t working and at one point he said “I spun it but it ain’t spinning” in a certain timestamp of the video.

Yes BROWN! This fan is a flaming turd. Why is it a flaming turd you ask. First off the bearings. They are god awful. Lol More Chandrew quotes. To be fair this was a cheapie from K Mart. It's a turdball but guess what, I like them.

It's weird and I don't know why the 2 speed variants of the Galaxy box fans were the only ones they made where they had the speed switch going counterclockwise from off to low, the only variant where they had the speed wires positioned that way.

There is a product called Caigs Deoxit that will help you with the switch. It’s basically an electrical contact cleaner and lubricant.

This looks just like my 14 inch with 3 blades has GE motor and the serial number decodes the year of November 1973 I got mine at an estate sale for only 15$! Has hands down been the best fan I ever owned! Also has a very pronounced start up sound! A lot like a Lakewood of this time!

Very interesting update to the tuna can motor. The old motors already had left and right sides that went straight up and down, so I guess they decided to finish the job and flatten the top and bottom sides as well. Probably to save on materials. But they also improved the serviceability aspect of it...which you don't get much these days. 6 uF seems to be the same capacitor value that the 18 inch pedestal fans use as well.

I am guessing the whole thing about the screws is just another way to save 2 cents on each fean.
