First comment!!! You’re making that guitar TALK, my friend! The Charlie Christian pickup is ideal for those of us who play each note like it’s its own instrument, don’t you think?
@jazz-chichi14 күн бұрын
Thanks for comment! CC pickup is great. Honestly at first I was really confused that CC's tone has no taste, very plain tone. But I've been playing on this I gradually feel it's good, I found it's me that give the taste to tone, not just pickup itself. CC pickup is good tutor of playing!
@jaybirdk74148 күн бұрын
@@jazz-chichi, I remember hearing such things said about the Telecaster, since you mention it! But yeah, the CC is such a simple, basic design that it doesn’t “color” the sound; you can hear it reproduce the string itself with all its nuances and vibrations. It’s like a P-90 in that regard, though the CC has a reserved, almost hesitant character, in contrast to the P-90. The CC will faithfully reproduce what you play, and in that, you’re right about the CC being a good tutor.

Sounds very very nice. I loved your "Nocturne" cover, you are an amazing player! Do you know if they make humbucker sized CCs? I think I might end installing one one my Ibanez hollowbody. I considered one for my tele, but I rellywant to put a Wide Range CuNiFe in the neck... musicians drama haha hugs from Spain :)
@jazz-chichi19 күн бұрын
Thank you! I'm not sure but CC pickup would be much more great on hollowbody. humbucker on telecaster is too fat for me🎸

Somebody needs to tell Julian to drop the whole telecaster through a little amp playing with a trio thing. It has been a waste of time for him and it was too obvious who he was emulating. There already was a Jim Campilongo and the world didn't need another one.

I'm a bassist, but played guitar first and always poo-poohed Teles. A fellow in my band died (actually, there's only two of us left now - I was 18 and joined a Western Swing band with a bunch of old guys) and I ended up with his 93 mexican Tele. This is the guitar he was playing the night I met him in '94. I have a whole new respect for the instrument now, and (kind of knew anyway, but this proved it) realize it's mostly in your fingers. I have a Pedulla MVP4 ('96) but can play a cheap Ibanez SGR and realize that it doesn't much matter. Sustain makes a difference, but the newer cheap basses have that.| There was a Grammy-nominated engineer here up in Maine, and my friend booked a session at the studio he maybe partially owned, or maybe just worked at. He (friend) wanted me to play some Duff McKagan signature bass. I tried, finally just grabbed some house P-bass. The engineer (I asked afterward for a report from my friend - I was curious after taking a break from music while I raised my kids) said something like "Wow - I haven't seen a bass player in a long time that I didn't have to do XYZ to get their track to work in a song." Essentially, I laid it down and it was pretty much good to go. It's all in the fingers, Bub, and a Tele is just about as bare-bones a guitar you can get. So I have a whole new respect for the instrument that I used to say sucked. BTW, grabbed a Harley Benton (I think a TE-62DB CAR) so I'd have something to travel with, and not be pissed if an airline lost it. It did not work out well. If an airline loses this, I'll be just as pissed as if they'd lost my Pedulla. I just wish it was a darker (and non-sparkly) red.
