Oddly enough, the light pecking noises he was making on that wood were kind of relaxing. Wood tapping ASMR done by a woodpecker lol

How did you make your feeder?
@thebirdperch_MI7 күн бұрын
Most of this feeder is made from repurposed wood! The base of it is made mostly from old wooden pallets and some other pieces of purchase hardwood. The suet log and other natural pieces of wood were from around the yard, branches that had fallen off our trees! It was a pretty big project!

Three beautiful birds just adding more colors and sounds to our World. I like them all but the Blue Jay's feathers are so vivid, even with their bad attitude. 😅 👍👍

The cardinal is just like a maga-republican, doing a lot of squawking and puffing up his feathers; meanwhile the democrat bluejay is thinking, "What's his fricking problem, I'm just trying to get a bite to eat."

Interesting colors on that cardinal.
@thebirdperch_MI12 күн бұрын
He was probably hatched earlier this summer or spring? They start out looking more like the females, then get their red feathers in patches. Their beaks are also black when they are young, then turn red/orange later!

What a treat! I've been lucky enough to have had a couple of these birds before. They are so pretty! Years ago, I had a large flock of Evening Grosbeaks ( the black and gold) , but I haven't had them in a very long time. Even back then I suspected climate change. The number of birds that I Used to get was So much more than nowadays, but that's better than having no birds any day. Thank you for a lovely video. 🐦 ❤😊

I remember just a few years ago, there were many of the Evening Grosbeaks in uncommon areas. I was not lucky enough to have any here! I would love to see them in person someday!
