Hi thanks so much for making this helpful video! I want to build a raised bed in my garden. I got an old pallett, checked the serial number to make sure it wasnt treated with chemicals and hence would be safe for plsnts. Then i tried to separate the wood with hammer and chisel - but its hard work. So i borrowed a pallett pryer tool (just like your) from a neighbour. I wasnt sure how to use it so i watched your helpful video and now i got most of the wood off (hurrah). Btw my palette has a different central design to the ones in this vid (im in the UK). So i wasnt able to break it down completely. Ps thanks to the prrson who suggested pushing the pallett pryer rather than pushing - i found that required less strength. Have a good day and cheers for your help 🌞

That's brilliant it can be back breaking using a pinch bar and you also damage and split your timber getting the nails out can be tricky they can bend if put in with nail gun

A carving I've longed to do.. Very good workmanship and the follow on of the caving just rounds it all up nicely. Great blog put together very well indeed.

My Man.... your technique saves every inch of wood with the minimum of effort. Really like design, size and strength of tool. These folks who cut the ends off because of the difficulty of removal are sacrificing not only the length of the board but also a lot of the inherent rustic characteristics that reclaimed pallet boards possess. Nice!!

it's nice when they use large-headed nails so these tools pry off the board along with the nails too... when pallet makers use those smaller diameter head nails, most often the nails stay in the base of the pallet and then you have to fuss with different nail pullers trying to get them to grab the small nail heads and pull them out

this would have been perfect if you'd started taking that pallet apart from the start. but I have a feeling that you had trouble using that tool for the first piece on that pallett.

I've been researching methods for pallet disassembly for about two hours now and this is by far the best solution. No moving parts, very fast, requires a minimum of effort, and doesn't split the wood. My hat is off to you sir!

One small suggestion: if you reverse the angle so that you're pushing rather than pulling, you can stand on the side of the pallet that gets lifted.

Great video thanks so much for sharing. That's a great tool you made. I am hoping to make one of them one day and have a work yard as well... Thanks a lot your video was both inspiring and informative. Do you have any advice on where in Pa I may be able to find affordable land such as the land you have your yard on? Doesn't have to be big just something I can use to build a work yard on and maybe put an Office trailer or something.
