Can you do one that is more classy without sparkles, green forest natural fairy but classic and more humble, idk how to explain but maybe that would suit you even more

I’m always so envious of women with eyelids like yours. My close friend has lids like yours and her eye makeup is always 👩🏻‍🍳💋. Gorgeous makeup btw

People are lecturing you a lot about the brows. Her eyebrow are thicker near the front but 1920s brows weren't nearly as thin as the 1930s. They're closer to the 2000s, they're thin, but not ridiculously so. Her brow tails should have been extended downward towards the temple, but that's just nitpicking.

Beautiful makeup but those are modern eyebrows! They should be pencil thin.

Thank you SO much! Means a lot to me :-) and yes, I kept the brows natural as the model preferred them that way!

The Gibson girl was much earlier than the 1920’s. Check late 1800’s Americana. The “Cupid’s bow” refers to lips and not eyes. Brows were considerably thin in the 1920’s too. Looks like you had fun doing this look though.

The Gibson Girl started around 1890 and lasted well into the 1920's! Very fascinating. I had noted in the video + previous comment that the model did not want her brows altered, otherwise, agreed---they'd definitely be thinner and rounder as history portrays. I never mentioned the cupid's bow while working on the eyes so not too sure about that, but really appreciate your comment and attention to detail!

Nice effort but compared to the reality? Not even a little bit close. I was there, with the big stiff hair and the way too tight jeans and the makeup too. If I can help, it was done backwards to your methods. Skin first, concealer and foundation then set with powder. Blush in one shade, under the cheekbone and under the jawline by the ears. Eye colors were light and dark of the same family with a contrast, liner was ALWAYS blue or grey, 2/3 of the top and bottom lid, none in the corners. Moderate mascara, false lashes never. Brows groomed with a wiped off mascara wand, worn close to natural. Lips big, colours were a base and a frost, lined with a shade darker than the base lipstick. Face was done first, then hair but always skin first. I still have a hard time watching people put eye makeup on bare skin then starting with a foundation, even after 30+ years

Haha, thanks so much for your input! I tried to create a more modern 80s look for this video but this was just one of the first few makeup looks I did growing up and growing more comfortable with the art. Now, however, with more research and years of experience I’ll look forward to recreating this the ‘right’ way! Also, I highly suggest trying your eyes first before skin some day. I personally will always stick by that technique since it allows room for eyeshadow fallout and easy clean up, especially when using bright colors like these! Glad you’ve stumbled upon my video. Hope you’re staying safe and healthy :)

@@MichiContreras thanks, you too. Eyeshadow fallout is secondary to a seamless application. You also have to remember that eyelid primer is a relatively new thing. We didn't have it. What you did was admirable, and probably very close to your source material, which I'm guessing was a magazine or some class of advertisement from the 80's. Like then as now, magazines and advertising campaigns are far from the day to day reality. The big hair wasn't vogue til 86, that's when it started, and it just got bigger from there. That was a blast, and an easy tutorial if you're interested. You need curls, a blow dryer, final net pump hairspray and your best friend lol

Hi love! So glad you I could help with this tutorial. They can be reusable if removed carefully, although it may be difficult to reapply and it may not look too smooth. I’d suggest going over it with some more liquid latex!

I think this is pretty accurate for around the late 80's to early 90's. Kind of a Jem (and the Holograms) sort of look. I loved Jem as a kid!

This is really good! I like how the soundtrack makes me feel kinda disconnected from the story (or the surroundings) but as it progresses the cinematography speaks for itself and is so much louder. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the lack of dialogue improves the film. and it's also shot really well. ps. just realised I said it made me feel "disconnected" and that's pretty much the title of this film so good job on that.. (:
