Scott this was nice, I think that you should take all of your rides and make a dvd of them and sale them, so when people have had a bad day at work, they can put in the dvd and relax. I hope you were not impacked by the fires, and that's another reason to put your rides on dvd so people can always see how beautiful things were, I would be the first to buy. My God always bless you and your family.

I was sorry to hear about David Lynch passing this morning, and I'll be sure to watch all his movies over the next couple of weeks. Eraserhead does kinda weird me out, might not do that one. Mulholland Drive will be on the shortlist for sure. The road itself will still be an icon of Los Angeles forever.

Does anyone know if the fires have reached it? Tom jones used to live there before he returned to UK?
@ridealongwithscott24 күн бұрын
This area of LA is untouched by the fires so far. Many fires are still happening however. The weather pattern here has not changed yet. Every day very dry, extreme winds are blowing all over Southern California and new fires start daily. We are all watching local news coverage all day as we are all at risk of evacuation orders. Tom Jones did have a mansion on Mulholland, but moved back to the UK after his wife of 59 years died when she was 75. Thanks for watching and commenting!

This portion of Sunset Blvd. has not been damaged by the fires at all. The fire area starts about 2 miles after the end of this video. I do have another video of that portion of Sunset from UCLA to PCH in Malibu here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5iYlpV-etiWjK8 I plan on shooting video through the same route as that one next week to show the damaged neighborhoods.

Thanks, Robert! I am about 20 miles away from the current fires, but thankfully my home has not been threatened. I have lived here in SoCal for 50 years and we have never had anything like this happen before. We have the local news on 24/7 as we have the Santa Ana Mountains and canyons just a couple of miles from the house, and we are downwind from them. We have a few bags prepared in case we get an evacuation order. The winds have been insane, and never lasted this long ever before. Thousands of families have lost everything, and my heart goes out to them.

How will California protect itself from Trump? Is it all show by Newsom or can he really protect people from mass deportations, keep climate goals in place, etc etc. I am still shocked by the outcome of this election and really thought we were better than this. Amazing place you went to btw. Had the honor of going there once. Very susceptible to climate change.

@ridealongwithscott2 ай бұрын
@@luperamos7307 I don't know what our state government can do, but I do not doubt Newsom's determination to block fedral efforts and protect Californians. I agree that this is a setback to fulfilling the promise of America, and I am deeply saddened by the choice of so many of my countrymen. We just proceed, chin up and determined to make sure all people can live free, with completly equal opportunities. Mass deportations are not the promise of America, and walls don't stop migration from persecution and strife. America is a land of immigrants, and humans have always migrated since we left Africa 60,000 years ago. The conservitives don't seem to be very good students of history. America's diversity is it's strength, and we are all in this together. We will survive.

Great little highway. Took this route to get back to Vegas from Solvang, instead of heading south towards LA. Felt like stepping back in time along some stretches. I can see this highway has the potential to be dangerous with its single lane and limited vision around mountainous curves. Over taking has to be planned carefully as safe overtaking opportunities dissappear very quickly.

I was out for a drive in the late '70s and stopped to get gas at station on corner of PCH. Had noticed a gal swerving in and out of traffic several cars behind me. She walked up to me in the station and said "my name's Mamu, I have a car just like that but mine's an Alpine. I live on Old Topanga near the corner. Want to come see my car?" Followed her up there, where she told me, "I live in that Tipi and my brother lives in the water tank". She said she was a Magic Mamu, and she could throw a mean Tarot and carried on without a comma that she was someone I should know. She had a snake for a pet, and an amulet and she was breeding a dwarf but she wasn't done yet. She had gray-green skin and a doll with a pin. I told her she was all right but I couldn't come in (I couldn't come in right then . . . ). And so she wandered trough the flap of fur just like a shadow from the tomb she said her stereo was four-way and I'd just love it in her cocoon. Well, I was born to have adventure so I just followed in her steps right past her fuming incense stencher to where she hung her castanets. She stripped away her rancid poncho and laid out naked by the door. We, um, smoked till we were un-concho and were useless any more. Modified lyrics of Frank Zappa's Camarillo Brillo. Can't help but think of these things whenever I go up Topanga. 7:49 LOL
