I had two of her books & if using Inktense can work but the paper is thin “cellulose” & no wet on wet or dropping in another color. Finally got good paper & traced some plant images onto it much better! Yours is beautiful!

Hi appleknocker 56 (love the name!) it's such a shame that so many beautiful colouring books have such poor quality paper. I bought some very expensive high quality watercolour paper to trace pictures from colouring books on to, but I'm too scared to use it in case I mess up and waste it (it cost AU $90.....Fabriano Accademia Drawing & Watercolour 27 x 35 cm, 100 sheets). I've been trying to work up the courage to use it🤣. I love my Inktense and they deserve the best paper, so I don't feel too guilty about spending so much money on it. I also love using Winsor & Newton watercolurs in my colouring books, it's just nice to use something other than coloured pencils all the time. Thankyou for taking the time to watch my videos and comment, I appreciate it very much. Happy new year. T C 🌺❤🌸😁

I had two of her books but found could use ink pens but if did regular watercolors the paper can’t take much water. No way can do wet on wet, drop in another color but for mixed media like “Inktense”, maybe markers but if used now would trace onto my better paper! So many of these books say “watercolor paper” but it’s cellulose paper not far from copy paper. Yours is beautiful!

Hi Appleknocker 56, I also find it really annoying when the pages are printed on both sides. If I want to use watercolour, then I have to choose which one to forsake, because the colour seeps through the paper and ruins the image on the reverse, and also buckles the paper making it unusable. You're right about the books that say 'watercolour paper', being nothing more than cheap copy paper, I've had some very bad 'watercolour paper' colouring books which I've bought online and many of them don't even hold up to using coloured pencils....too smooth, shiny and thin. Problem is, there really aren't many adult colouring books available in stores, where you can flick through and see the quality of the paper inside them before buying. Most of the colouring books in stores are for kids. Thankyou for watching and commenting, I appreciate it very much. Happy colouring.😁🌸💜

You are just genius how easily you work with these colors! ...by the way I had a 72set but it was stolen from me during moving houses so now i reckon I'll be more willing to think of buying only the 12set. TY TC
@TCHARRISON1
@TCHARRISON1 12 күн бұрын
Hi saraandchill, I'm so glad you liked my video.There are many more colours that can be created from just the set of 12 Inktense. What a shame your 72 set was stolen, that really sucks. When I bought my first 72 set, I thought they were expensive and shortly after, I noticed the price was steadily increasing, so I bought another 5 tins of 72 Inktense pencils and 5 tins of 72 blocks. I knew they would just keep going up in price in future and I wouldn't be able to afford them again. I thought they may even be discontinued at some point, or the quality may drop, as is often the case with art supplies. It's lovely to have so many colours to choose from but I really enjoy mixing my own and to be honest, there are many colours I don't often use in the 72 set, but it's lovely to have so many options. I've seen them being sold online for as much as AU $300, my first set cost around AU $90 and as they become more popular the price just keeps going up, so at least I have enough to last me a very long time. I hope Derwent don't start getting Inktense made in China, like they have with many of their other products. Winsor & Newton have been getting their Cotman Watercolour paints manufactured in China for years now, and the quality has dropped, I even got a completely empty hollow tube, and others only half filled. Colours and performance were well below the Winsor & Newton Standards that I expect from such a great and famous company. Anyway I better stop jabbering on, I don't want to bore you with my whinging. When I get started , there's no stopping me!😜 Thankyou so much for watching and taking the time to comment, I truly appreciate it very much. Happy new year. TC 💜🌸❤️️😁

amazing colours u have made with just 12 colours. I was thinking.....if u particularly liked a colour u could grate the 2 colours into a little pot (like and empty sample skin cream or eye shadow) then u would have your favourite mixed colours to hand. Just an idea which i will b trying myself. Love Alli XXX

Hi Alli, so glad you enjoyed the video. Derwent actually sell little graters expecially for grating Inltense Blocks, called 'Grate 'n' Shake', I don't use one myself, instead I just use a sharp craft knife to scrape the blocks and that works perfectly. I love your idea of using cute little empty eyeshadow pots for storing the grated colours, i'm all for recycling and I will certainly be doing that from now on....thanks for that great little tip. Thankyou so much for watching and commenting, it's greatly appreciated. TC🌺💜😊

I was really surprised to see that I had watched this before without hitting the subscribe button right away. I really love all you color choices, and your beautiful work on every page. I wish that I had the gift that you do in choosing color pallets. I find it very odd and frustrating that although I can easily tell if colors do or don't look good together, that that ability doesn't help me at all when trying to come up with a single pallet out of thin air for myself. It has kept me from coloring for years. Every page you showed us had beautiful color combinations, and your coloring skills on all of your pages were great to see. I will be sure to hit the subscribe button before I leave. I will look forward to seeing all your past videos that I have missed and any new ones that you do in the future. Hi Dee, thankyou so much for your lovely kind words. As I'm planning on moving back to England permanently within the next year (I currently live in Australia) I have already packed alot of my art supplies......colouring books and pencils, away in boxes ready for shipping, so I haven't been able to do any colouring lately. My studio/art room is bursting at the seams with boxes and I literally can't even get in there. But, I can assure you, I will be getting back into colouring and art as soon as I can. For colours, the best advice I can suggest is, try using fewer, and be sure to use 2 or 3 of the same colours throughout the painting to tie it all together for a pleasing and harmonious effect. You have given me an idea now, I think I will have a go at doing a paint/colour along video when I next do a colouring or painting upload. Thankyou so much for watching my videos, and commenting, It makes me so happy to know that you enjoy them. T C🌺😊❤

The problem of making a square tile of a seamless hex grid is an interesting problem. I stumbled upon this exact pattern of making a hex grid pattern that's nearly square. But I went a little further - This problem can be reworded as, "What x,y arrangement of non-square elements produces a square or nearly a square?" So I made a spreadsheet that shows the percent stretch required for various x,y arrangements. You can use a ratio or side lengths. In the case of a hex grid the min tileable element has a ratio of 1.73207222 : 1, therefore a tile of 4 x 7 elements is nearly square only requiring a 1% stretch. (As you show in this video) If that's not precise enough, the spreadsheet also shows alternate patterns of 11 x 19 with a .277% stretch, and 15 x 26 with a stretch of just .073% (Note that's not x,y of hexes but the tileable area, which is roughly 2 hexes across and 1 hex down. So 4 x 7 becomes about 8 x 7 hexes, which is what you show.) I don't know if this is the standard solution for dealing with this, but here you go: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1md69Wg-juOBhWLxp1cKpNJouchVetxXOannQWrqHm8U/edit?usp=sharing

Hi jebryth, When I was out in the garden he would come up to see what I was doing, and I would just talk to him quietly. He seemed to like my voice and he would follow me around like a little dog, so I gave him a name 'Spotty Dog' and he responded to it. Then it got to the point where he would sit on the fence post outside my backdoor and wait for me to come out. I started giving him little treats and a bowl of fresh water everyday and he decided he would stay. He loves foraging for fruit and veg scraps on the compost heap, and there is always lots of seeds and insects which attracts all kinds of birds to my garden. Birds quickly learn who they can or can't trust, and they soon realised I was no threat to them. If you want to befriend crows/ravens, I would suggest giving them some pet food such as cat biscuits to begin with, they really love them. Just make sure they have a bowl of fresh water at all times. Thankyou so much for watching my video, I really do appreciate it alot😊🐦💙

Hi Carmen, I agree with you about some people being bad, and birds are very good at knowing who they can and can't trust. They can sense when someone is going to harm them, before they even get close to them. They also have really good memory and can even remember faces of people they have met in the past, many years ago, and they know to avoid them or trust them. Crows and Ravens are extremely intelligent and clever birds and they do enjoy interacting with their human friends but they are always very cautious at the same time.
