Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.

I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second daughter. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks...

Having NVDA and PLTR are smart additions in my opinion. it's all about balancing your risk tolerance with your long-term goals. Also partnering with a fiduciary advisor can help streamline your strategy.
@AddilynTuffin14 сағат бұрын
De-risk your portfolios, shore up your core holdings, and take some profits while balancing your portfolio allocations. I’d also suggest you go with a managed portfolio, but even those don’t perform so well, so it’s best you reach out to a fiduciary to guide you, that’s what works for my wife and I. It's been 6 years now and we've made over 88% capital growth minus dividends.

I anticipate positive growth in the markets for 2025, and I'm considering investing $220k in stocks for my retirement plan due to recent rate cuts. Could you provide guidance on executing this investment safely? Additionally, are there any crucial tips or changes I should be mindful of in the current financial landscape?

Meb, could you arrange for a guest to make the case for a VAT? A VAT is the solution to the national debt problem, or does the country lack the adult outlook to follow through on this?
@alexn989Күн бұрын
You see, you can call it whatever names you want and some will work on some dumb uneducated and some won’t but a VAT is no difference than a tax that every American will have to pay. Raise income tax and the dumb cries and moans but call it national sales tax or VAT which will raise the prices of every thing we buy and they will happily accept it! VAT is assessed at every stage of production and all that increases in costs for suppliers and producers, they will just add them all to the price of the final product and we pay more for the same products. It’s just a TAX on consumption instead of on income!

Generally good advice meaning: if you have already won, don't keep playing. It can be hard to make the switch from being super focused on growth to now dialing it back to even basic index funds. There is some bias in the video as he makes an assumption that growth is "over priced" and richly valued. I like the idea of a barbell approach where you can balance growth with a conservative allocation and then adjust the weighting over time

Our entire economic system is based on and relies on the vast majority of people financing debt to live. Designed and planned obsolescence is necessary in order to keep people biting the same things over and over, year after decade, until they die. People who are frugal and eschew debt are viewed as freaks, weirdos, and unAmerican. Yet nothing is as satisfying as living debt free.

@@TaxerTheTyrant it can be helpful for a lot of individuals in certain situation, same as how it can make sense for some people to not pay off a house immediately even if they can. Similarly my ex girlfriend’s parents were super rich and owned a dental practice however they are still paying it off 15 years later(it still operates). Bc financially it makes more sense to just take the payments rather than dropping the lump sum.

Le Asswath, when you buy matters more than what you buy. If everyone had the benefit of hindsight, then Meg Faber show would not exist. You are making an argument for market timing which *everyone* tells you should not do. Therefore most investors when get FOMO and buy and "cost average" as stocks move higher and then when stock tanks, life / shit happens and they sell. THEN you blame the investor because one is supposed to do "long term investing". All you are doing is making people poorer using hindsight to perpetuate FOMO. Thanks a lot. NOT.

Ticktock, Temu, SHEIN, Tencent are all young Chinese companies having global presence and impacts. BYD/Neo/XPeng those car companies are all young private ones. They influenced American social media/politics, became Europeans’ favored cars, and even Elon Musk is trying to imitate WeChat with X. Even more private companies in manufacturing, biotech, IT & AI that people don’t know that are giants in their niche worldwide. They are the ones causing the U.S. to panic. More on the way. India has great tech executives in the US but private startups? Not even close. Prof needs to study why private companies thrive in the Chinese context. A share listed companies are a good place to start. Not stock index but specific individual companies.
