I have 2023 R1250GS. Will it do it for my bike? Will it void the warranty if I do this? Last question, can u make the bike run richer with the GS911 tool?
@motowales7 ай бұрын
Yes it will, warranty is a grey area…some dealers accept the tft dash as being changeable…it is only a data presentation, others will ask for it to be restored to factory settings. No fuel differences are changeable. Think of the GS911 as a friendly mobile mechanic that you take with you in your top box, allowing to review any warnings on the side of the road, allowing you to make an informed decision - road home/dealers or recovery. The added benefit is the customisation to various modules on your bike. motowales.co.uk/product/hex-gs-911-diagnostic-tool/

@@motowales Ah okay thanks! I'm no mechanic so even if it told me more than my tft dash did for any error code, it's not like I'd know how to fix it lol. All good, I may just go with a cheap alternative just so reset the service light

Not if you are only servicing one to 10 vehicles (10 vins). If you go over 10 vins then a Pro licence is required (annual charge).

Nice video, I have a 22 GSA and rolled the steps for heated grips to have 6 levels. After going through the steps the gs911 indicates a successful upload. However, when I check TFT screen it only has 5 steps as it originally did. Any idea why it’s not displaying 6 steps. The gs911 shows 6 steps and the % levels for each level I entered.
@venusnair10 ай бұрын
Great video chief. Quick question though..Will BMW service guys have any issue by updating the display? And rolling back to the stock screen should be pretty easy as well I reckon.
@motowales10 ай бұрын
Thank you 🙏 No issue, as you are only changing how data is displayed, some may suggest reverting the TFT back to stock display if the issue is with TFT. Simple to revert.

Bad...hydrochloric acid is bad for stainless steel. If it's easy to clean your bike with toilets product when will you poo on it?
@gvybin Жыл бұрын
A word of warning : Although the internet is full with advices to use Harpic Power Plus 10X to clean a stainless steel exhaust, I would strongly advice not to. It contains hydrochloric acid and yes it will clean and penetrate the stainless steel surface impurities, but at the same time it will destroy the surface of some stainless steel products that don't contain enough chromium to form a new passive protective layer. So in the end the cleaned surface will start to oxidice very quick and you do not want that. hydrocloric acid is the one acid that should NOT be used on Stainless steel, it actually destroys its capability to reform a hard chromium surface that prevents it from corroding There are far better, safer products like welders pickling paste , that use milder nitric acid used in passivation solutions. They come in a paste form that is brushed on. Let it sit for half an hour and rinse very thorough (high pressure would be good) with a lot of water. It will clean and decolour the surface perfect and it won't harm the surface of the stainless steel. It is used by welders to clean the coloured and contaminated welding surface on stainless steel welds Just to give a bit of warning.... You shouldn't believe me, search the internet on hydrochloric acid vs stainless steel..... Do the same on nitric acid.( Just don't let the nitric paste come in contact with aluminium.) And one more thing : It is even stated in the Harpic Power Plus product safety data sheet : Reactive or incompatible with the following materials: metals
@lowiet8979 Жыл бұрын
What would be a good concentration of nitric acid for good results as most people won't be able to get their hands on any high concentration.

Last year I drove down a wet salty winter motorway , when coming home the van wouldn't start , not even a clicking sound . I knew nothing about electrics but I knew about clicking sound if the battery is low on charge ( normally faulty alternator) but there was absolutely no sound at all ......puzzled. Anyway sent for AA and it was just the dirty positive connector on the starter motor !!! The AA man said it is a common thing in the winter with salty dirty roads. I had waited 90 mins on the AA to arrive ......if I had only known a quick wipe of the connector was all that was needed.

no the clicking means the actuator is not jammed. no click means the actuator part of the motor is damaged... clicking but not turning over means possible bad connection. instead of 1.3 kw it needs to turn electric motor. never a bad time to change a starter if you are doing labor yourself..... installation $400 part $150

@motowales5 жыл бұрын
Turned out we had the wrong AMP battery. It’s a great colour isn’t it? 😆.
@eoinenglish52215 жыл бұрын
@@motowales lol, in that case check your battery negative to engine earth and battery negative to body earth for corrosion or other dirt. The flicking speedo can be caused from bad earth and can be hidden by higher amp battery meaning it can happen again in future if the earths don't have a good clean connection amd your battery fades over time. Great colour being from ireland ;)
@izzzzzz64 жыл бұрын
@@motowales Sounds like you had a bad battery connection when the clocks went out. But that didn't happen when it was just clicking. That might have been a half good connection to the solenoid that was enough to start it triggering but then just sprung back again.

You could say the same about sandpaper, but we still use it to get the rust off. If you are only eating the rust away then it's win win. That rust isn't doing anything anyway. Just be sure to double rinse it off so it doesn't carry on eating into the good metal.
