I agree with your title - regret buying a unit!!! A "house" can be planned to meet ALL your requirements, with optional upgrades such as a garden, a pool, multi-car garage, and, if properly designed, can also be "multi-generational" - units just don't offer changes to the original plan, and "Multi-generational" units and all the hassles they entail, such as privacy, bathroom sharing, noisy babies and /or growing kids. Our house caters for 3 generations and it can work if you establish and enforce communal rules!!

I know of one agent in the Quakers Hill area in Sydney that continually underquotes the price guide at auction and never has any of the properties gone any where near the guide. Closest I’ve seen was $150,000 over the guide

Politicians are suppose to be the servants to all people. However, the politicians and there policies are only serving the rich and themselves. Is this what you call democracy? Only solution is to become rich then the politicians will look after you, otherwise flee the country and find a better home elsewhere cos Australia is doomed for average joes.

No House price increasing is another form of inflation. Deflation on cash held. The result is more people will be forced into rentals, if wages don't meet price increases. This will cause a massive burden on non-property goods and services to also increase, hurting the poor.

Interesting analysis. On crime, there seems to be a link between higher crime rates and the suburbs where major shopping precincts are located (Ipswich Central, Redbank & Booval). Regarding Ipswich Central, the majority of households rent. A lot of social/Department of Housing as well.

Scrap these incentives. They only allow a first home buyer to take this to an auction for somebody else to bid them out of the deal. This falsely inflated prices. I might add we are one of only a hand full of countries in the world when auctions are a major way of selling, which is crazy

I wanna know how properties are priced more with quality fixtures, like marble, brass handles and solid wood internal doors. On the Sunshine Coast, I see so many cheap looking (all white with Laminex) reno's, but then there's homes that look like Pinterest, and they're a million or THREE more! How on Earth is this valued!

This video is good. My Building and Pest inspector got me to test all lights, ceiling fans and appliances. I pointed out some things that didn't look right and inspector noted them on the report. Used these to reduce the final price by a couple of thousand. But if not drawn attention to these repairs would have come out of my pocket. Inspection cost me $500 but was well worth it. Highly recommended for peace of mind, gives you a way out of the sale as well.
