I wouldn't call this a scam since it is technically possible to win. The player just has no way of knowing what the odds are. Now if they disabled the prongs (especially the jackpot prong), then it'd for sure be a scam. I trust this machine far more than I trust the digital versions.

Nice! You’d probably need one of those gold slq commeratives or find something else the exact right size, unfortunately the size is off for the nickel machine too. Gold has such a nice feeling in the hand, I wouldn’t be to rough on that coin as gold (especially 24k like that) scratches super easily

i went to a casino on a friends birthday with my own money , ONCE . i was 22 years old . $20 dollars , nothing more , nothing less . after i lost that $20 and got not a cent of it back from playing slots , i learned my lesson about casinos . i went again at 27 and someone else gave me money so it wasn’t mine to really be concerned about losing (although if i did win anything i was definitely gonna keep that LOL) and again , left that seat with nothing . i admit i have an addictive personality but NOT with gambling my money away !!! i know what to expect when i walk through those doors . did it twice , may never do it again . i needed that 20 bucks lol

I believe those chips on the board are the Game, Base, and Version ROM chips. The Game chip specifies the type of game (eg. Standard, Nudges, Haywire, or a version specific to a game) The base chip contains the necessary information for a specific game. The version chip specifies the region it is designed for along with denomination options.

Perhaps somebody thought the machine could accept five nickels for a play?... 😇 (They obviously can *now* ...But a lot of the tech these employed was like black magic to most, so assuming the machine was like a teller and could accept change isn't unreasonable. :-)
