Interesting proposal that improves the ux of buyer. I wonder about the tradeoffs of having an arbiter. For example Bisq does not use arbiter, and only requires ~10% amount deposit from both buyer and seller. That way in case of any party misbehaving, loss is certain for both, so no incentive to misbehave. Maybe that could work for both a xmr bisq and a xmr market?

What if a malicious entity with a lot of cash, can afford to subsidy the miners by tx fees, and then decide to send millions of tx providing total fee revenues to miners that exceed the subsidy ? The miners are incentivized to add these txs as the fees exceeds the penalty (which can’t be greater than the block subsidy) and the blockchain increases dramatically in size ?

Damn, and I thought I wouldn’t need most of the upper math course…glad to see Monero and others still in the fight. I’ve been greatly discouraged in the past years that TradFi is taking over crypto (via over legislation & centralization)….privacy is being reimagined [into extinction].

Nice. Anyways the argument that customers pay more due to loss of privacy is in general wrong. Companies able to better target their offering and their advertisements are able to minimize the costs they face to sell their products. Economically a market with privacy is a market with imperfect information, which is inefficient almost by definition of most measures of efficiency.

My issue is that XMR has become so incredibly confusing. When I first delved into the crypto world in 2020 I was fascinated by XMR's concept. Even tried my hand at mining, spending a lot of money on computers and GPU's that I had no idea about. Bought t-shirts supporting XMR, etc... Last year I traded all of my XMR away. The wallet just got too confusing, running a node wasn't rewarding and synching my wallet was a nightmare. (The main issue every post reports on Reddit.) I never aimed to get rich off of any crypto and, unfortunately, I think those in it now are using cryptocurrencies in place of stocks. I still love the idea behind XMR but it has to be something that can be used in place of fiat, it has to be easily accessible and until it is, if it ever does, then I will hold off on collecting XMR.

I wish Monero had a finite coin cap, I won't take it over 10% of my portfolio without a hard limit on money minting.
