That's a nice walk, always lovely along the river. Shame folks disrespect the pillboxes by leaving rubbish inside them. Glad you managed to get a nice pint in towards the end of the journey, well earned.

On this walk you may bump into cows (bulls) and horses. If you don’t like cows the best day to walk this one is on a Sunday as the farmer normally removes them for the walkers but you will still probably come across a couple of fields with horses in. ❗️ENJOY❗️🐴🐎🐮🐄

@@HikeaholicsWWW Ah yes, the walk to Acle along the Bure ( via Stokesby) is one of my favourites. Love doing this one during the cold winter months (Good excuse to take my hipflask with honey mead to keep warm) Halvergate, and also the walk to Reedham are fantastic hikes too. And yes indeed, many a drainage mill and wildlife to view. Look forward to seeing the video's when you film them both.

Fritton woods is a travesty of what is was when I was a kid, and camped there, seventy years ago. There were no beaten paths, no dog walkers, no large cleared areas. It was all mostly undisturbed forest with the railway running through; steam trains, and we would look out for the fires they sometimes started. The public were not able to use it as they do now. It was once a lonely, wild and beautiful place for us country boys to explore.

Everytime I go, I always seem to bump into off-road bikers 🚴 My first visit was about 40 years ago & it’s changed so much & not for the better🥲It’s still a very special place too me as I’ve always lived close by & still visit regularly.

That's a lovely walk, passing a few of the historical sites as well. Absolutely love the priory, such a marvellous building. There's another railway bridge further back into the Bell Hill Battery (near to Belton holiday park) it sit's on the marshland which is now private farming land. If you can get permission by the farmer, it's well worth a visit. Further inside the Bell Hill Battery is the old gun emplacement. It's heavily overgrown, and you can walk through the woods and not notice that it's there. Sadly, and very sadly, a few years ago, it looks like some younger folks had a camp out/ party night there and dug away a small section of the emplacement wall/mound. I was horrified to see such mindless vandalism. I really enjoyed this video, thank you for taking us on the journey.
