I got an R600 from my grandfather. It works quite well, wit a new diode, but I still hear a 60 cycle hum. Can a full wave rectifier be used, with a variable resistor, (R2) to get the required voltage? The hum should then go away, as full wave is a smooth DC current. Running on a battery pack, there is no hum.

@Stangmaster You need to replace the filter capacitors as well as all the other capacitors. The old caps in the radio is putting a strain on the tubes and they may be out of specs because of this.
@StangmasterКүн бұрын
@@wireworks616 I was going to that first, I got the kit from Hayseed.

When you have it on the grinder, you want to dip it occasionally in water to cool the blade so you don’t lose the temper.

I have the same sander I bought new years ago and the 2 pully bearings were shot. They both will pull off with a puller and like your 1 pulley the plastic pulley piece cracked when they popped off the bearings. I ordered 2 6202-ZZ bearing for $4 total on eBay. I ended up carefully prepping and gluing the bearings into the old cracked plastic pulleys with JB weld grey epoxy. It works like new again now but If they ever go out again I will have to make new pulleys on my lathe because they are no longer sold as parts. PS- Blow out the areas with an airgun behind and around the 2 pulley bearings because I thinks sawdust etc. build up behind the bearings shortened their life. Mine were packed with guck that clearly made it's way past the inside bearing seals and destroyed them. Great video!

Before hurricane Helene i ordered a couple cheap handheld ham UV5R radios, in case we lost cell service. Since then i have become very interested in the amateur radio stuff. I am just amazed at how much there is to learn. I think ill just stick with the GMRS frequencies for now. However, learning about these old will help me understand more about this fascinating hobby. Cheers

Logo is sick but it could use some crossed Thompson submachine guns, a huge aura of flames, and coming out of the gun barrels, cobras with eye patches, smoking joints. I've had good luck dipping yellow acetate handled screwdrivers in acetone for a few seconds after a cursory cleanup, letting them air dry. Sometimes a few dips. They come out shiny and clear. It can affect stamped brand logos but that doesn't bother me. I have some syrnleys, a few prtxs, a klnnn, and some bntnx & donktrs.

Likely a reproduction, there's hundreds on eBay. Some marked Alcatraz, some San Quentin, some Folsom and some just say things like "Insane Asylum"......Pretty neat though, I like to find a big one like that for 5 Bucks.
@wireworks6164 ай бұрын
@rawbacon Don't think it's a reproduction. I have locks similar that are reproduction. The repros are machine made, you can see the difference. This one was hand made. The pins and keys are different from each other.
