do they make a single capsule version that sounds close to the cardioid in sun mode? I would buy this but i don't need al the extra patterns

Do you mean “single sided” capsule version? The closest sound to sun mode is the C716. They use the same JT12 “ck12 dual sided capsule, but electronically configured only for Cardioid patten.

It is a 2 channel standalone AD and DA converter, so you need to interface it with AES/EBU. So any audio interface that has AES/EBU format. Then it converts analog to digital and digital to analog

I heard the difference in the patterns only while listening fairly loudly through headphones. Could be because your room has a short decay. Listening casually on speakers in my living space I heard no perceptible difference between the patterns. I could not tell when you switched. Of course, there were long silent passages between each pattern and human auditory memory is notoriously short...

Consistency from Pattern to patten is part of charm in this mic. That is hard to do.

Hey Doc, not sure if I'm a bit late to the party.... nice overview, I'm really interested in one of these. I read somewhere that the aux sends per channel are defeated when the 'To Mix' button is deactivated. Is this how it works or can I still send an aux feed even when the channel is not sent to the summing mixer? Also does the level control on the 4 mic/line inputs affect those 4 line outputs, or just the volume being sent to the mixbus? These 2 things would really help me work out how I would provide cue levels to artist while recording them. Many thanks
@DocMixwell
@DocMixwell 2 жыл бұрын
You are really late since Dan doesn’t make them anymore. Yes, The Aux sends are activated when you press the To Mix button. There is a line and mic gain, with an output level trim on each of the 4 channels.
