09:40 the best option is not mentioned. That would be to get a carb bike and buy a lectron carb. This carb has no jets and uses a metering rod. It is an ingenious mechanical Carburetor not electronic. It automatically agjusts for elevation and air temperature. The you get the benefits of carb carb and benefits injection system without the need of a fuel pump that could possibly fail. You also get the benefits of a simple reliable easy to work on fuel system. If you dont know what a lectron carb is I recommend looking it up.

I have no issue with carbs, but I have two issues with this video. 1. oil injection has been in use reliably since the 70s. My first two enduro bikes in the 70s were oil injected with no issues, as were all two stroke street bikes in those days. So, saying carbed bikes are more reliable, especially seeing as all those oil injected bikes of the 70s were carbed, isn't quite right. 2. Fir crying out loud, on your trail videos point the camera up the trail, you know, like where you are supposed to be looking. I'm getting tired of looking at the bike's front fender and the three feet in front of it.

Smartcarb: Let me introduce myself. No more jetting. Change on the go.
@panic-revv852 күн бұрын
Sure, but meter carbs don't perform as well and they aren't fail proof like many think they are. They still need tuning and any avid rider is still going to be consistently tinkering and dialing it in.
@1down5up_enduro2 күн бұрын
@panic-revv85 I went from keihin to smartcarb. Didn't feel the difference. For average rider, it will be hard to find a difference. Cody Webb uses smartcarb. It's easy to adjust lean/rich on it. I've done it a few times on the trail.
@panic-revv852 күн бұрын
@1down5up_enduro I've only used the lectron and they definitely don't perform as well as the keihin. A friend of mine built a YZM500X with the BRC kit. He loves the lectrons. He bought the Big air lectron, and smartcarb to test and ended back on the keihin. Meter carbs are good for trail riders for sure. They just don't perform as well imo. The YZ250 keihin also has a powerjet that is operated via TPS and silonoid. It's a hard combo to beat for power.

I’ve ridden all and in my opinion a perfectly jetted carb is the best with bottom end and top end speed

I never had problems with my dirtbikes with carbs. But TBI sounds like step in right direction. At least for majority of riders.
Sooo... tbi is no more than a Smart carbed bike....😅😂

you can remove oil pump at tbi so i would say tbi is nice.... only problem I see is electonic powervalve... i dont't think tbi is under powered compered to tpi.... tbi has stronger power band and pull out of corners....

you can use a smartcarb instead of carborator but they cost alot but no tuning except idle and fuel/air no jetting or piolet needle

I don't think I learned a darn thing.. Did KTM cure leaving 0.9 gallon in tank on 2024 300 XC ? There is no fuel shut off valve on TBI.. Is it best to drain gas for long term storage? Or will fuel injection like dry out... Just curious

My GasGas Ec300 had I think 300+hours with one pistone by last owner, had almost no compression when I brought it. Bring it back alive, was thinking to buy a tpi... but then I may stick with this bulletproof oldie goldie bike.

is it more instant/crisp than Tpi/ tbi?
@alberto-cg7ox5 күн бұрын
@@BackHurtsBad yes. 100%. And also if you know/learn how to truly use clutch, carb have absolutly no problem. You can bee smooth as a tbi if you know how to use the bike (or learn how to). I also had a 4t fuel injection and 4t carb. There Is nothing Better of a 2t carb. You want torque/Power instantly? Boom. You have. You want smooth? You have. You want traction? No problem. It's all marketing tbi....they have to use tbi in their bike in order to sold them.. but also they have to Say/convince that's tbi Is Better or nobody Will pay the extra Money for something that don't work..

What is needed are the correct spring rates for your weight and how you ride. Idk what this talk about a bladder for the shock because they all have them as that is where the nitrogen is put in and charged to the proper pressure.
