when setting up with PPPOE using a tp link modem, I had to add the VLAN ID of 101 to get it to work. Just adding the username with no other config doesnt work. Just thought I would let people know if they are looking at this video to help them.

isn't it a question of filters? I tried using Hagezi or OISD filter list and it blocks 96 percent on the adblocker test b/c both are aggregated lists from many sources.

Yes, but I think they make the Access Point look quite chunky.
@mikescott4008
@mikescott4008 7 күн бұрын
Been considering one of these myself, but they look pretty chunky compared to the Ring and a fair amount of brickwork to chisle out. Wanting a better solution than Ring and with hopefully Toob coming to my area so, decent connectivity. I have a new unused NVR that I was going to use with G4 doorbell, G4 bullet and g5 Pro bullet in time.

As a Door Attendant only, I can go to Unifi website, click on the door and unlock for any duration I want. This seems dangerous...any apartment user could leave the door open indefinately?

Absolutely fantastic video - very many thanks indeed. I currently have a Virgin Hub 3 connected to a switch and a Unifi UAP-AC-LR upstairs and a UAP-AC-M outdoors. The Unifi ACs are on a different network to the virgin hub and I could never figure out how to get them all on the same. Could the Dream Router be the answer? You have made it look very simple but in my hands its likely to be much more complicated!

Good video. Bummer about notification issue, would like to use this in a 21 unit building, that is a deal breaker. Can the intercom call provided numbers for people in the directory? Typically they would press a number to unlock the door. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.

Thank you for your video. Is it possible, in your opinion, to connect 2 G2 Reader Pros to only 1 access hub to control 2 different doors? My situation is this: I live in a condominium, and with 1 access hub I would like to control the opening of the condominium door where I will install the first G2, and with the second G2 I would like to control my apartment door. Thank you.

All the dream router/express models feel out of date running wi-fi 6 right now. Obviously 7 is the latest but even 6e would be better.
@home.network.solutions
@home.network.solutions 12 күн бұрын
The dream router is pretty old now and WiFi 6 was the standard at the time of its release. The Unifi Express is really an entry level device and I don’t think it would have been possible to keep the price so low on a model with WiFi 6E or 7. Generally I prefer to use access points over an integrated AP as these can easily be updated. It will be interesting to see if Unifi release an updated version of the Dream Router. Thanks for watching 🙏

Is it possible instead of showing “directory” on main screen directly show Flat 1, Flat 2, Flat 3 on home screen of the intercom device
@home.network.solutions
@home.network.solutions 12 күн бұрын
I don’t think so, but I’m going to take a more in depth look at the intercom in a video soon and we’ll see what can be achieved. Unifi often release changes with Firmware so it may be something they allow in the future. It makes a lot of sense when it is used as a gate intercom for a private residence to just have one option to call.

@@home.network.solutions in europe usecase and user behave is different then in us. For example if you have a house with 3 apartments the display would show all 3 names directly. So if you would showcase this it would be a big help for me. I am worring people here would be to confused to click on directory and then select the name as we dont use such systems over here :D

So I'm a little confused now with the electric lock option. We have a metal frame glass door out front that doesn't have a latch (like the little thingy that you'd turn a door knob to unhook the door from the plate/frame to open it). It's just a handle and you pull or push to open the door, and it has a lock that latches when we close up for the day. We want to do an electric lock but not sure if that would work in our door situation. Would the electric lock make the lock itself turn to lock/unlock as we push the Exit button (or swipe to enter), if that makes sense..? Or would we have to use the magnetic lock option since there's no door latch thingy?

Don't buy this stuff if you live in the UK. The returns process is done by sending stuff to the Netherlands. Your products get customs charges for returns! This stuff is garbage! I was offered instore credits to cover the customs charges! I will not be buying more items to send to the Netherlands! Very poor customer service.

There are lots of UK based suppliers with a simple UK based returns process. I’d be interested to know why you think the cameras are ‘garbage’ and what you are using instead.

A keypad would eventually show wear on the numbers, cutting down the options that a bad actor would need to try. NFC, phone or watch app is a great idea. That being said, I don’t want a smart lock in charge of my home security. Staying with multipoint lock and key! As the presenter shows; this is designed for enterprise usage, but I can see the appeal it will have to some home users.

They need to allow users to be door attendants and incorporate it into the identity app. Then the users will only need one app for Wi-Fi, VPN, doors and intercom.

It would be better to go straight to the lock than the reader. Too much at stake to rely on reader in my view. You can activate emergency via the app or desktop which will open all door or lock all doors depending on the requirement.
