As a blind qa engineer who uses a MacOS and rides code in his free time on SWIFT, your comments about the strange behaviour of VO are very strange. I need to use windows and NVDA and JAWS on windows for my work and I hate it… so, be aware that for some of us the strange screen readers are the windows ones.

Super helpful. Is there a way to use short keys to send a window from the main to external desktop and vice versa?
@KevinNYank

Yep, see the feature at 5:02. You can also hit shortcuts like Move & Size to Half Display twice in quick succession to move the window to the other display in the same direction.

@@KevinNYank for what reasons did you stop using Elm in new projects? Are you able to sum it up overall from the perspective of so many years? I'm starting to learn Elm and I'm a bit worried about whether it's a COBOL-style learning venture

With a preset you can, but I don't think you can make ad hoc size/position changes to multiple windows at the same time with Moom.

Great talk, Kevin! This exactly matches my experience with Elm in creating my game, PathFinder, which you may have seen the beginnings of at an Elm hack night you hosted (aside from not using CSS modules in it). I loved the experience of writing in Elm, so for recruiting, Elm is definitely a big selling point for me. In an introduction to Elm talk I gave at GreenSync, the part that really made it click with the audience was that compiler-driver refactoring confidence you covered. I heard recently that Culture Amp is moving away from Elm, and I was quite surprised and disappointed to hear that. If true, I'd love to know why. I'll have to watch your follow-up video next to see if that's mentioned.

ho Kevin. did you know if is possible to put window in custom place I have decided inside "custom panel " simply dragging the windows on "hot spot" or corner of the screen instead to modifier+ key ?? this is a features that have the app "better snap tool" inside the App Store. I found it much more faster because it works just dragging windows on specific place instead than using the keyboard. thank you anyway!
@KevinNYank
@KevinNYank 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Moom has this "drag to edge/corner" feature as well (see Mouse > Snap to Edges and Corners in the Moom Preferences). I personally find it quicker to manage windows with keyboard shortcuts, because I spend most of my day typing. But if you primarily interact with your computer using a mouse, then these drag gestures will be more convenient for you.

I really, really hate every Lamy pen I've tried, or owned, including the 2000. Just horrible, ugly pens with cheap, stiff nibs and low standard materials. That said, this is the first Lamy pen that looks interesting, and I may give it a try.
@edwinbeta2806
@edwinbeta2806 2 жыл бұрын
Blown away by this 😂 Wow! Never heard such disdain for Lamy. I love their nibs but they are prone to skipping sometimes, pretty annoying but small adjustments usually solve my problems. I mainly use my pens for illustration, so I can understand hating a pen that might be a good drawer. My Franklin Christoph F nib is an amazing writer. Drawing? ... Not so much. What kind of pens do you like around this price range?

Hello Kevin! So, you're also a Lamy collector. May I ask you.. I bought my first Safari 1986. Last year the hood cracked. How long is the life span of it? It was red and had black nib and clips. Was it a limited edition? I also have the AL-star in Light green, but with chrome clip. Was it also a limited edition? Even if the clip was chrome? And I agree with you.. Ideos is awsome!! So is Aion!! All the best!!

I want to like this pen, but it looks like the clip wobbles from side to side, and the way it posts makes posting it unusable. The Aion was a big design whiff in my opinion, and unfortunately this looks like a whiff also. I like the Lamy’s I already have, but this is a no for me.

Thank you very much for your review. Interesting pen, and a really well made video. 2 questions - are you the Lamy collector from Melbourne (like me) on FP network? Have you tried the Xevo yet? I bought one at Milligram and really like it, as the triangular barrel makes it comfortable to use! You should review some of your Lamy collection on You tube.

Thank you for the review, sir! I've been waiting for it to appear on YT. I didn't try lots of pens, but I think I've found my favourite with Lamy Logo. As I like long, slim pens I'm interested in some comparation. Can you tell me if Ideos is longer than Logo (both posted)? Obviosly it's not as slim as Logo, but it seems to me that it isn't too thick either. How does the tear shape ipact thickness? Is Ideos slimer to hold than Studio, Aion and so on? Looks to me it's in between of the Lamy catalog (by thickness), am I wrong?
