The river running through Audra State Park is the Middle Fork of the Tygart river. It's a popular whitewater run that is CL3/4 down to it's confluence with the Tygart Gorge, which is CL3/4/5. Like many of WV's streams it's undoubtedly trout stocked by the state DNR. Generally the park campground is closed from Nov through early April. Anyone wishing to camp there should, at minimum, check the USGS gauge reading for the MF Tygart at Audra to make sure it's open because the rangers will close the campground access once that gauge is high enough to flood the riverside campsites. Think twice about letting children swim anywhere but the designated swimming beach if that gauge reading exceeds 4 ft. And if Audra is "in the middle of nowhere" then so is most of WV. Audra is an easy 6 mile or so drive off of the 4 lane US Route 33 roughly halfway between Elkins and Buckhannon.

I once saw a documentary about how sloths sleep for hours on a tree and when they wake up they mistake their own arm for a branch, they try to hang from it and fall into the void and die, it was the stupidest thing I had ever seen, until I saw your post.

Me and my buddy hit those piers yesterday. Nice warm day but we still got skunked. I've fished this lake a handful of time but I've always been skunked. I assume it must have a relatively decent fish population without needing to be stocked?

That’s a copperhead, they’re poisonous but as I understand they can’t kill you, my sister in laws neighbor got bit last month, she’s a nurse and knows they can’t kill you, but she went to the ER anyway.

Cars kill birds, deer, raccoons, squirrels, opossums, snakes, and many other critters. They are constantly breaking down and they pollute the environment. I don’t hear any complaints about them.

I was just waist deep in the sound two days ago and I cought 3 spotted trout but I wanted to catch a red drum they fight good but the spotted trout fight like rocks also they were only 10 inches or so

We caught some trout too. I almost landed a huge ray of it was too big to fit in the net and broke the 30lb leader at the dock

This guy's fine. But he's acclimating the doe to humans in an area where most of them would crush it with their boots. They look normal and try to act it, but they're quite sick.
