sounds like someone has taken a bit of inspiration from bands like front line assembly. thanks these are informative videos as it helps me to think about what to look for when refining my own mixes

Nice, thanks for sharing your workflow. :) Do you use Soothe mainly for de-essing? Second question is this an Xpressor right before the Varianten-Mu?

I do use it for de-essing but also anything resonant if it's a problem. Yes - Elysia Xpressor b4 the vari mu. Cheers !

great stuff. at 9:15 when you talk about prepreparation and if it made sense, it does make a lot of sense to me. i also apply that concept in my masters, i like to call it conditioning the signal. First thing in the chain is fabfilter (linear phase) ProQ3 doing either static or dynamic surgical cuts or ProMB, to essentially clean, tame and condition the signal in order to have better results going into the rest of the chain. Allows you to bring high end shine at the end of of the chain for example, without any harsh resonance cause those have been taken care of early in the chain. I also like to use subtle saturation, so that conditioning part beforehand also comes in handy. Big fan of your work, i'd love to see more of those videos mate :) loving the hardware cam as well

Enjoyed this, really informative. Do you find yourself using The Swift for actual EQ much or is it usually just on having the track running through it?

I use it on around 25% of masters. Happy to do a video run through of it when a track comes up. The presence setting is killer !

Thanks! Very cool to see what level of detail in the mix you can take control of with those tools. Also love the hybrid approach, time to get some tracks ready for mastering again :)
