What is working for Stagecoach really like? I have filled out an application and been doing some research. What is it actually like
@hotchefuk015 күн бұрын
Im enjoying your content and considering applying as a trainee driver. Looking at your duty, it appears your out for 11 hours. Is that normal? What does your working week look like. Stagecoach advertise 39 hours with overtime available. Im guessing you dont do 5 days a week, working 11 hours a day. Cheers

Nice video Froosh. Hope everyone is ok after the bus fire that happened in stroud on tuesday..
@alexander_strachan8 күн бұрын
Question: why are there so many buses from Painswick direction into Stroud each morning? The C59X basically duplicates the 166, whilst the 66 joins in Painswick itself. Seems a bit strange for morning peak when vehicle demand is high. Also (sorry, I'm very curious), how are you managing with the vehicle shortage (and, um, reliability) at the moment? A driver this evening said Stroud has "lost so many vehicles" that buses were going onto different duties. I assume you're aware of the fire, too... These videos are really engaging, by the way! Look forward to more.

Its a massive rough patch at the moment, espeically with the more recent horror the other day involving one of our vehicles with the fire, but honestly it comes down to the average age of the fleet, yes we have acquired new Solo SR's but the rest of the fleet has an average age of nearly 15 years old. A refresh of fleet is needed but isnt going to happen anytime soon
@BusDriverFroosh8 күн бұрын
The 59X and 166 both pry off to different places, 166 being a school bus for students primarily up to TK and the 59X being the college focus bus
@alexander_strachan8 күн бұрын
Interesting, though the bus which blew was one of Stroud's newest (a 63-plate). I wonder if it's issue with the batch, as 37010 caught fire a few years ago (37012 being Tuesday's victim). They seem to break down a lot, too. On those bus routes - it seems more logical to just have the 59X (and 66) coming down as I didn't think TK students lived as far out as Painswick and Co (though I'd gladly be corrected). The students going to the various Stroud schools may fill the 59X, but then get off before most of the college students get on. Yes, I think about bus company logistics far too often.

Whats it like working for stagecoach? I hear mixed reviews: terrible wages, long hours, no rest brakes, etc. Is this true? I'm thinking of joining Stagecoach from my current job in IT as I feel I need a brake from computers.

Not surprised management didn't want people to see where your hands were positioned on the steering wheel. As a retired bus driver myself your lazy approach on the wheel would get you in trouble in a busier environment. Where did I work? In and around Manchester......................😜

Strange how enviro 200,s always sound as if theyre dropping parts along the road and just keep going, nice buses. Lived in Stroud and used to walk and cycle some of those roads as well as on Bristol RE,s and Leyland Nationals, so much has changed around there especcially the price of pie chips and peas in Stround town centre on return trip, when i next visit i will definately be going for trip on that bus, thanks for filming Paul

2 things 1 Did you ever get to drive SN64OMG from Cheltenham when it come over to you lot because of 37011 getting fitted 2 The new solos come to Stroud for the Cirencester routes but on the first day thay was on on the 620 and thear was one on the 65 and then one on the 64 and I was like OMG what is going on. 3 Am I right thinking that the solos are not aloud to go out on a Sunday

@Busspotterryleigh 1. I have indeed 2. The new optares were designed with Cirencester as the main priority but can be used on other routes if required 3. If nothing else is available optares can be taken but it's recommended not to take them

@Daltondoors2933Ай бұрын
Great videos, it's seems great where you work, however where I drove all you had was trouble off passengers, refusing to pay, arguing, fighting. Plus you have to carry your own cash for passengers to have change. Some companies don't do it anymore but stagecoach do and expect the driver to carry change. The buses are old and falling apart. Timing points are ridiculous, also the rotas where you can work 11 days straight without a day off. It seems every depo is different.
@joshwbuses.trainsАй бұрын
Lovely buses really, BUT they are no voith (which is amazing). Is this video that old then?
@eivom1Ай бұрын
I have a question, it may sound stupid, you mentioning de icing your car at the beginning, do you ever need to do this for buses? Or is there someone who preps them ready for you?
@BusDriverFrooshАй бұрын
@@eivom1 not a stupid question at all, our fleet of buses utilities really big demister motors, which to be honest aren't the most reliable at times but they get the job done eventually
