Great form. I can see the lower belts thinking that's how I need to be. I am just learning O Ro this sets a high bar.

Looks really good. I picked up a lot of pointers on how to improve my hyung.

Just to clarify: on the (2) low palm heal strike sets, you have the hu guls first and the front stance second. Is this standard? I’ve seen four fronts, four hu guls, and reverse of what you have. Isn’t there a book with GM Hwang Kee doing it?

It looks ok, the knee to front kick should be a slow exhale then retract.

Sorry about that Ninjaguy, you are right, you did not miss any steps. It was just so fast I missed it at first! I was talking about the first "put the foot down in a forward stance and execute choong dan kyong kuk" @0:40. You actually did that perfectly!

Kinghercules, that's so interesting. Side kicks are much more modern (post '45) Shotokan in style. The Shitoryu (Mabuni) and Wado-Ryu (Ohtsuka) do it just like modern TSD/SBD with front kicks. How do you do your elbow near the end? Horizontal like "ninjaguy" here, or vertical like the Japanese styles? (I'm Rees on FB btw.) Ninjaguy - you missed a full step forward after your very first crane stance/kick and punch move. Was this on purpose? Or a mistake? We use the SBD/TSD Dan Forms book (Vol. 2) as a reference.

ghost180sx If you are using the book Volume 2 of the MDK Forms then no steps forward were missed. This is also the way it is taught by the US Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation.

excellent performance. your hyung is excellent as what have being taught by Kwang Jang Nim. Honestly, I seen many black belt candidates doing this hyung & I hardly can see they perform as good as you. Keep up a good work. Soo Bahk!

This is in fact Chil Sung Il Ro Hyung. Because of the softer techniques that require more of an internal understanding of movement, it is often taught after a student has learned Chil Sung E Ro Hyung.

I thought that one was Chil Sung Ee Ro, not Il Ro.

This is an excellent example of how to perform a hyung for demonstration purposes. This form clearly shows the chinese influence on korean martial arts. Very well done!
