Looks like they're having issues with the afterburner. But I'm not that familiar with the early migs so it's possible that that it's normal.

In the early days afterburners worked like this, and yes, that was some kind of a problem as they failed usually when you desperately needed max. power.

She's under steam the whole route, from what I heard here in Calgary. The diesel is only there due to the legalities of running steam - 2816 is the very first steam loco to have Positive Train Control (PTC), although UP has now installed a similar system on 4014 (Big Boy).

8:32 I remeber a time where you could only see gray locomotives like that in Knoche Yard, not long after KCS revived the Southern Belle livery. Maybe by 2032 Southern Belle units will be just as rare
