Hey just a tip from a trailer tech carry a spare on a trailer hub that fits your axle with bearing races and seals already installed with cotter pin and castle nut so if u blow a tire u have a extra tire and if u blow a bearing you will have extra hub for a quick swap on the side of the road..trust me if you travel far and wide this will be your Savior

Those IBC tanks weigh 2,400lbs each if filled to capacity. No way that trailer can handle two of those tanks filled more than 1/2. Definitely need a tandem axle trailer for that much weight.

Great example of Cook camp trailer. Question, are your trailer springs facing the wrong way?? Every trailer I've owned the bolted part of the spring is up front and the slider part of the spring is in back. Just a question. Good job.

@@davethewelder1 They were backwards, they were like that when I bought it. I had some work done on it at a trailer shop and they said it was fine so I left it for a while, but I have since changed it. Surprisingly, it never caused a problem!

Oh!!!! The umbrella port!!!!! Genius!!!! I have a similar goal in wanting to hook up and roll out as tent campers (have a huge canvas glampi g tent for Talls so he doesn’t have to be bent over inside). That umbrella port tho!! Classic example of work smarter. I’ve tried to imagine all kinds of complex shade options. Just brilliant!

Great that youre spending time out with the family! Really nice build - These are my favorite kinds of projects. It's so rewarding to put something like this together and then see your family enjoy it. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. My kids and I built a 6x14 trailer to hold our kayaks as well as our fishing and camping stuff. It's made packing so much easier. We integrated an 8x8 awning with a screen room on one side and sometimes we just use it instead of our tent. I've thought about buying an old single axle horse trailer to build a small camper out of, they sell for cheap. Might be an idea for you to think about. Good luck!

Nice set up, living in AZ you don't have to worry as much about rain. Interesting, I've never seen slipper springs installed in that orientation. It seems like it would chatter not having the spring anchor in the forward mount.
@brettjudy9 ай бұрын
They were installed that way when I bought the trailer, and when I had some work done at a trailer shop they said it wasn’t worth fixing it. Eventually I swapped out those springs and fixed it then. I made an update video if you’re interested! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqWwn2hqpbN2gMUsi=o56LfPFfpRSYPqPO

@brettjudy11 ай бұрын
Congrats man, this is definitely a trail you should check out! The road isn’t too bad, you could probably even make it there in a car if you tried. The last couple hundred feet of the road is the most difficult part where you would need some decent clearance. I haven’t been there in a couple years, but it wasn’t very overgrown last time.

Finally, first I've seen something that I could copy at least in principle. this idea would be cool as removable modules to still allow trailer to be used as a utility trailer. I would probably use a 5x8 trailer. That kitchen box is actually really nice. I don't like the overlander trailers that are dedicated to doing just that. Nice job.
@brettjudy Жыл бұрын
Thanks Phil! That’s interesting you mentioned the removable module, I’ve been thinking about doing that as well! I have a 5 x 10 utility trailer that would work pretty well for that. I’ve updated this trailer quite a bit since this video and I’ve been meaning to make a new video, but even with that I think it’s time to move onto something new. I need more storage so I don’t have to put some much in my vehicle.
