The 10 year old GAK review did the pedal justice but it took a full 10 years before the gods sent us Phil C. to give us the whole story of just how much this box can do. THANX Phil 😎

Hey, love your playing. i have the same set. However sometimes I find it too fat (it has quite a high output). Sounds a little like a humbucker. Very jazzy. Have you tried also some lower power pickups for more tele-like tone?
@PhilipCzarneckiКүн бұрын
Hi Max, sorry for the late reply! I don‘t find them so fat actually… 🤔 Definitely lower output then my LP with P90s… They do have a fullness to them which I like - fat mids… Which I like. So maybe it‘s more of a tonal/EQ thing, that doesn‘t suit you?.. Cheers! 🙌🏻👊🏻

hi philip really nice video!!! Do you think I could use this pedal as a preamp and go directly to POWER AMP / FX LOOP on my amp? Thanks
@PhilipCzarneckiАй бұрын
@@diegowacker Hi Diego! Thanks 🙏🏻 I have my doubts that this will work. You can always try to plug it into your FX loops return & see whether you like it or not. Don‘t know whether it‘ll have enough output on the one hand, and EQ tweakability on the other… It definitely will not give you Pre-Amp-Gain! So no gain/crunch or overdrive sounds for sure. My prediction is that it won‘t work great… Maybe paired with a proper preamp? All the best! 🙌🏻

Sounds great! How does this compare to the Rattler and Motherload. I tend towards low gain but don’t want to the occasional ability to wander off into high gain.
@PhilipCzarneckiАй бұрын
@@ricsmith510 I might demo the Rattler MK2 (hopefully) soon… Can‘t compare here yet. The Motherload does have more gain but personally I‘d prefer the Ratatatat for lower gain sounds. I‘s say that the Ratatatat has enough gain on tap. The Motherload has the Muff circuit in it as well, which gives it more features… But for pure RAT sounds - Rstatatat for me! Hope that helps! If you can, wait a month (or so) for my Rattler demo 😎 Good luck! And let me know what you went for! Cheers! 🤘🏻🙌🏻👊🏻

Great video! Topic is not discussed that often. One great way is to stack a low gain overdrive with a clean blend after another transparent overdrive (Nobels, Bluesbreaker e.g.). That way you can squeeze out more subtle saturation and compression without sounding distorted. T-Rex Moller 2 is pretty great for the clean blend part.
