Buy a roll of c60 filter fabric, it comes in a roll 15ftx330ft cut to size and sew together woth zipties every 2 inches. I use it for dredging it works great!

Is this an add on measure to protect the foundations of existing breakwater or can it be a stand alone alternative to breakwater?

In this case, ACETube geotextile tube indeed serves as an additional protection for breakwater foundations, but it can also be a viable solution for constructing breakwaters. I used to run a crew on the Atlantic coast. We would mainly repair the lake banks of pro golf courses. 7 brothers shoreline preservation was the company's name. I started out with a 12' skiff a Kohler ground power unit and a mcausland trash pump and about 200' of hose, dredging manually holding the intake hose by hand. Later we fabricated 3 different dredge barges with a swivel boom on deck and a winch with remote to raise and lower the 6" trash pump. Used a 4 cylinder john deer power unit and then moved up to a perkins. I ran that company successfully for over 2 years. Only took the bossman a couple weeks to run the entire company into the ground. I was a beast at the trade and absolutely loved my job. Sadly there's not much demand for it anymore

If the target water content of sediment in the tube reaches, there are three methods to dispose of it. 1. If the tube size is not large and not heavy (for a crane to transport), the crane can move the tube to the truck and carry it to clean. 2. If the tube is large, we mostly use a machine such as an excavator or a loader to move the soil cake to the truck and carry it to clean. This way is often to use. 3. Dispose of the sediment through burying or reusing it as a revetment structure. Choose which one is dependant on the budget or other requirements.

For building permanent groyne or breakwater structures, we suggest using geotextile tubes covered with dolosse or riprap. This method utilizes in-situ sand to fill the geotextile tubes as the sand core, which can greatly reduce the material purchasing, transportation costs, and more convenience for construction. And the protection of the coverage made by solid materials extends the service life of the structures.

Since the case is located in a reservoir area, flocculants are not allowed to use under local regulations.
