I remember driving with a friend to get this on launch day because he had his parent's old car and I didn't have one yet. Man, we were kings and didn't even know it. This was one of the first games I seriously worked to get a 100% completion on, see all possible paths, and still have the OST downloaded into every device I've ever used for music.

One of my all time favorite gaming experiences was playing through this entire game (including the bonus fight against Mobius) on every ace style, on ace difficulty with the F-5E Tiger. It was always a little comical having that tiny airplane do all of that 😂😅

Mission 7 was my favorite mission when this song started. “The Galm team’s mission is to launch an aerial strike on Gladdison opening the door to the Belka for our ground troops. In all probability this will be an extended operation. You’ll be able to refuel during the latter half of the mission. If you’re low on fuel temporarily withdraw from the battle and return to base. Good luck.”

This series’s OST gets me choked up. I have a history as a musician, so a game having a good OST is usually all it takes to get me to love it. Most will see it as a silly plane game. Some will see it as inferior to high-fidelity flight simulators like MSFS and DCS. Me? I see it as a journey through sound.
