All travellers either run away from something or try to find something. Also many have said a new country needs 2-3 years before you can tell if the place is for you. Starting a family and working years in a location is what roots you to a place, not superficial ha-ha evenings with unmarried people.

When I saw it was a white American woman, I said before the video started, "100% guarantee she got robbed and now feels unsafe living there;" called it. Also, seeing as how she is from America in a state which is predominantly white in a country built by immigrants for white people, it is no wonder she feels out of place. Argentina is built for Latinos. As an American and afro-latino, I always enjoy visiting latin America as it always feels more like home than the U.S. I am happy to see white Americans traveling as it helps them to feel what it is like for a person of color living in the U.S.

Cash is queen? More like cash is king. And the comparison with Paris? Oh please. They have nothing to do with each other. Whoever came up with this needs help.

If you’re Asian I’ve found the people in cordoba to be significantly more racist than Buenos Aires. BA has a certain reputation but while you still get the occasional look BA is far more accepting than cordoba in my personal experience. Not many Argentinians have been outside of their country. If you’re from the states this may feel uncomfortable at times. Take that as you may.

Thank you so much for this video. I learned a lot. A question, if I only spend a few days in Argentina (on a cruise), what is best way to get money ? Would hotel give me blue rates or at exchange places instead of opening a Western Union account?

I’m coming to Buenos Aires with a family. There will be 4 of us. Do each person need a SUBE card or we can use one and just scan it 4 times. Do the kids 3 and 5 need to pay as well?

Everyone should know that the exchange rate thing has changed a lot either way the new government. Credit cards now use an exchange rate that is close to the blue rate. With the introduction of the 10,000 peso bill, and foreign credit cards useable, there’s no longer a need to carry bricks of cash.

Hi I want to visit maybe Sept or Oct 2024 I only have 8 days there is it safe to say 4 days in each place with Palermo being one and Buenos Aries being 2nd? I'm assuming I should stay in Palermo 4 day hotel there then take a Uber to BA or which is the fastest and or safest way to go to BA from there or visa versa depending on where I stay first Also, in your opinion. And I know this might sound dumb but if I go at the time where it's less crowds during the spring season, Sept-Nov will I be less of a target only due to less scammers on the streets or WORSE OF A TARGET since there is no one on the streets? I'm also assuming all other cities around Buenos Aries are much safer ? I mainly want to go to BA to see museums and take pics 🙄🙄While trying to be inconspicuous and or I don't mind taking a disposable camera, maybe that's best.? If the thieves DONT SEE MY PHONE, then u think I'll be less of. Target, but would I be safer taking pictures with my phone somewhere else other than Buenos Aries? And if I go in September or October, should I bring a spring jacket or how to dress? Thanks PS. I'll change money in Amercia first and take it with me. I only hope when I get change it'll be REAL MONEY NOT FAKE🤔🙄🙄🙄😪 ALSO DO I get the bus pass at the airport ? How much should I load on it for 8 to 9 days Sorry, i didn't finish the video🙄

Moving around so much don’t expect to ever find home. You need to chill out. Just saying. It’s not bad that you travel. Shoot that’s what I wanna do. But it does come at a price somewhere. I believe it’s not investing in a place to call your home 🏠

Your tips here are great. While I can picture some people interpreting the desire to hash these things out ahead of time, doing so is very mature and can absolutely save you a lot of trouble. If you have a thoughtful friend, they should be heartened by your efforts to preseve your friendship.

The African population used to be more than 50 percent of the Argentine population, and there used to be more black people in Argentina than in Brazil, Argentina committed mass genocide against its African population, and I personally would never set foot in Argentina. Argentina from 1868 to 1874, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, undertook a genocide' that wiped out the Afro-Argentinean population to the point that by 1875, there were so few Black people left in Argentina that the government didn't even bother registering African descendants in the national census. Tellingly, Sarmiento wrote in his diary in 1848: What is [to be] done with such blacks, hated by the white race? Slavery is a parasite that the vegetation of English colonization has left attached to the leafy tree of freedom,” - International Business Times. imagine they killed half their population. the land of Argentina was fertilized with the blood and bones of Argentina's former African enslaved population. the food that grows in Argentina, and the grass that grows, for which the cattle graze on, was fertilized by the blood and bones of, its former African enslaved population, that unique taste that you taste, when you eat food grown and grazed in Argentina, is the blood and bones of your former enslaved people. African slaves built Argentina, and then the former slave owners paid back the slaves for the great works, toil, and effort, with mass genocide, the most complete and comprehensive genocide in human history.

ugh, so sorry that happened to you, Nicki... we had a similar experience here in Mexico with my husband's fanny pack/man purse that was snatched off the back of his chair when we were dining (lesson learned!) that had his entire wallet, car & house keys, cash, all the things... It is such a violation. We are going to get those phone cases that you recommend for our upcoming trip, thank you for taking the time and courage to post this and share with others, so they too can be informed and empowered. I became a carbon monoxide alarm advocate of sorts after my husband was severely poisoned and almost lost his life, so know firsthand how tough it is to recount a traumatic experience, but when it has the benefit of paying it forward to protect others, it is well worth it in my opinion.
