Some women I know have hair that can handle this. Me and my 4c, when the new growth comes in, my hair starts getting crunchy and will shed until it’s all gone! My hair also breaks when it’s natural bc it’s tangles so bad. It’s a lose-lose situation for me. 😩 This is why I wear wigs, I do not have the patient. A kinky straight wig is all I need.

Relaxers don't damage your hair you damage your own hair before you come to the salon and if it looks damaged you blame the people in the salon

Alopecia is a skin condition that causes hair loss when the immune system attacks hair follicles. There are several types of alopecia, including: Alopecia areata A chronic condition that causes sudden, smooth, and non-scarring hair loss in patches on the scalp or other areas with hair. It can affect people of any age, but often begins in early childhood, late teens, or young adulthood. Alopecia areata is not contagious and usually affects people who are otherwise healthy. While there's no cure, treatments like corticosteroids, immunotherapy, and topical solutions can help hair grow back more quickly and manage the extent and duration of hair loss.

NO SUCH THING AS A RELAXER THAT DOESN’T DAMAGE HAIR, BY ITS VERY NATURE OF WHAT IT IS DOING IS DAMAGING. ITS A CHEMICAL PROCESS.

Iron vs. steel. Cast iron vs. carbon steel. The simple fact is, steel is unlike iron. But how? We’ve put together this guide to explain their properties, how they’re made, and what components you can find them in. We’ll cover:
@1204

How is iron created? To produce iron on an industrial scale requires the smelting process, which takes place in a blast furnace. This involves extracting iron from its ore through an oxidation-reduction reaction. An example of an iron ore is haematite, which contains iron (III) oxide, Fe2O3. The oxygen must be removed from the iron oxide.

What is steel? Technically, all steels are alloy steels. Alloys are metals made by combining two metals, or rather, two or more metallic elements. Some occur naturally - electrum, an alloy of gold and silver, is an example - while the first man-made alloy combined tin and copper to make bronze.

Both iron and steel are strong, but iron is brittle. The primary difference between the two is that steel is made stronger by adding carbon, and various other metals and compounds. Steel has a lower melting point at 1,371°C, compared to iron's 1,537°C, but steel is also able to withstand wide temperature ranges

Before, I went all natural in 2009, I only got a relaxer every 6 months. 2X a year was great for me. My beautician would talk about me LMAO but, I did not care. Now, I do not and would not use a relaxer. 15 years and all natural. ❤💯❤

Hair loss due to a fungal infection or yeast infection on your head can lead to patchy - but temporary - hair loss across the scalp, eyebrows and eyelashes.

I am sooo sick of natural girls implying that I don't love my race because I like my hair straight! That is infuriating! I'm proud of who I am. So contrary to popular belief, relaxing neither destroys my pride, or my curl pattern, lol! Relaxers allow me to pamper and air dry my curls, or, to make my hair stick straight when I want it stick straight. I think paying 200 dollars to get a silk press that is going to immediately revert the second you sweat is ridiculous! 😂 Relaxer costs 10 dollars and lasts 2 months! So yes, I prefer my hair straighened. That has nothing to do with me being proud of my heritage or not, and I resent the implication that it does! The take-away here? Seeing the huge smiles on natural hair girls faces when they first look in the mirror just after a silk press or relaxer! They smile from ear to ear, in awe of how STRAIGHT and beautiful their hair truly is. They exude confidence. Then they run their fingers through this newly straightened hair and toss it around like a runway model! Are you going to tell me that's not great? That she doesn't have the right to feel that happy confidence because of some misplaced judgement you've put on her to have to look a certain way? So iust stop being scaredy cats, put on your big girl panties and relax your hair! For heaven sake.

I've been natural for 9 years and am considering going back to relaxed. Through this whole 9 year journey I've ended up worse off with far more breakage just trying to care for my natural hair than i have ever had with relaxers.

This is beyond misleading. There are some relaxers that do less damage but in order for the relaxer to straighten the hair it needs to do damage - it's just basic science. You can't break the bonds to make it straight and then say its no damage. If you opt to get relaxers just know that you're is going to be in a more fragile stat than if you hadn't - just as if you colored your hair. I'm not saying don't get it or they are bad, but stop spreading the lie that there is damage free relaxer.
