I was able to finish the game and Shadowgate and Super Mario Bros. are my two favorite NES games EVER!!!

Loved this game as a kid on the nes system. Very rewarding to complete it.

I would have loved to see the remake as a 1:1 version of the original NES game. Since it’s been over 20 years since I last played the original, it would have been fun to try to remember all the details but with updated visuals. I was a bit disappointed when I got further into the game and noticed there were far too many differences. Even so, the remake is still worth playing. I also realized that I had missed Shadowgate 2. I think I’ll start with the remake instead of the original for that one. But which of the two is better to start with? The best is Nes Shadowgate version with the Swedish translation of the game, although they mistranslated "gå" (go) and "slå" (hit). Luckily, they included a piece of paper with a correction for the mistake.

The game is great but i just seem like to struggle to get anywhere in this game.

The only negative thing is the wall boss you have to use crash/clash man’s weapons

I wish they could bring some of these kind of games back to modern consoles which I know there’s some of them available, but I don’t think this one is

I really liked this game when I was a kid.

One of my favorite games growing up. There was a recentish remake that is just as brutal (if not more so) as the original. But I still prefer the original.

I've finished Super Goul's N Ghost's, twice and the difficult part, weren't the enemies, or the final true boss fight. For me the difficult part, was the jumping mechanic. But i think that Battletoads on the NES, and on the Super Nintendo are ten times harder, then Super Goul's N Ghost's.

I think Mizrabel is actually based on the Evil Queen from Snow White, if I’m remembering correctly.

People forgot about this game for a reason. As someone who had this disaster of a game when I was a kid, I can tell you with absolute certainty that Fantasia for the Sega Genesis STINKS. It's a case where the visuals alone do not save the game. Everything else about Fantasia just fails: especially the painful audio (which was actually created with a pre-GEMS program), bad hit-detection, and confusing level design. Players are supposed to collect all the flying spell books to proceed to the later parts of the game. Failure to do so means getting sent back to the very beginning of the level.
