That distortion sounds just like the Big Muff box I had in the eighties.

WHO's string quartet did he say? Anton "Vabrin", (or how is it spelled?)? A quick search turns up nothing similar (?) I found Anton *Webern* - that could be who he meant. Webern sounds kind of similar to Zapppa's often dissonant chord use. Elliot Carter's music sounds like a nervous breakdown put to music.

Yes, he spoke about Anton Webern an Austrian componist in the 20th century...

My favorite Zappa memory was pre-show. Working catering, taking a break before the huuge dinner. Watching sound check, just Frank and the first wireless we'd ever heard. He kept walking slowly down the aisle, watching us nodding our heads - Loud and clear! Shivers, man 😎

Dorian Mode masturbation over 2 chords is not a composition, sorry Zappoids his guitar playing leaves much to be desired ...He didn't exercise the discipline he imposed on his bandmates unlike John McLaughlin and Allan Holdsworth , even Santana was much more interesting

Wow. It gets real when Douglas starts talking about smoking and lung cancer. Zappa died from prostate cancer, which is HIGHLY correlated with smoking . Zappa didn’t do “street drugs” but he constantly smoked tobacco .
