Loved Zappa, but c'mon TV crew. Not a single shot of the other musicians he's playing with??? Lame.

It's very interesting that when a thousand people walked out on Alice Cooper Frank Zappa saw that as they had something special.

Very strange dude. Strange music. Strange family. He fits right in with the weird ass people that we have these days.

Eddie Van Halen wasn't tapping before Frank

Wow. It gets real when Douglas starts talking about smoking and lung cancer. Zappa died from prostate cancer, which is HIGHLY correlated with smoking . Zappa didn’t do “street drugs” but he constantly smoked tobacco .

Hard to imagine about this time VH was playing in bars and, while another Zappa interview talks about how some guitarists played the same polished solo over and over again while he improvises you have to admit the original guitar parts in Van Halen songs are very inspired, different than most prior rock groups, and Eddie had his own style enough I don’t think he tried to repeat himself. I guess in part I’m saying in 10 years time from the mid 60s guitar playing was already advancing quickly. Zappa seems to be one of a kind virtuoso and much of his stuff I don’t care for.

It was funny to realize at 11 minutes in that Kenny and JJ had been sitting there the whole time. That’s every bit as funny as John Denver and Dee Snider.

A few years earlier on Mike Douglas , John Lennon as Chuck Berry started to do a duet on the stage , but Lennon’s old lady Yoko decided to get into the act . The result was hilarious . John was pretending not to notice , but the look on Berry’s face said it all .
