Looks like a great Trail Runner. Are you there any PFAS, forever chemicals BPA'a any other material used in the manufacturing of this running shoe to be aware of? Thank you

I guess Alpine 2 is around the corner as as the Alpine is sold out in many sizes all over the world. I hope for light colours for men. Light brown with white inside just like the women Model now. And of course it needs to be vegan again please. And easier to buy in Switzerland would also be nice 😁 I know I wish for a lot and hope for the best. Whish you all the success

Oh dang Yuri tried these out? I really like these because it feels as barebones as a shoe can get while still holding onto what makes a great a shoe. Stripped out all the clutter, focus on function and still looks awesome

I finally found what I was looking for with this shoe. I use them for flexibility and calisthenics training. When I opened the box and my first thought was they look like they were developed for space. And when I put them on it’s akin to slipping on your best pair of work gloves. I’ve been through 3 pairs of minimalist shoes trying to find the balance of flexibility, support/padding where needed and these are it.

I stand for long hours at work and am in a lot of pain because of it, so if you could make a video about how to stand properly, it would really help. I know it sounds too straightforward, but hear me out. How much of the weight is on the ball of the foot? How much is on the heel? For people with flat feet how far do they have to rotate their ankles so that their knee straightens, but not so far that the outer sides of the feet start to hurt? (Perhaps I answered my own question). While we are on the subject, if I have flat arches do I need to rotate my ankles outward at all, because it helps me lift my arches, but I also feel a strain on my leg muscles. Perhaps it is because I never used these muscles before and simply need to strengthen them, but there is also a chance that I am causing damage to my joints. Also what do we do with the hips? When I tilt my hips backward my gut sticks out too much, and I feel like my left thigh bone (for lack of a better term) doesn't fit neatly into my hip socket, but when I tuck the tail bone in, while it does allow my thigh bone to better fit into the hip socket, it closes my rib cage and it is harder for me to get a full breath, so finding that sweet spot when it comes to the tilt of the hip is also very important to me. Also some people recommend activating the quad muscles above the knee slightly to relieve pressue on the joint, but I tried many times and don't know how to do this without just clenching my whole leg, so it seems to me that standing properly is a little more complicated than people think.

Best shoes out there for sure. I have commented before. These shoes a freaking fantastic choice for someone who lives their life in a wheelchair the last 15 years. I have found Xero shoes to be the absolute best thing for me to live in. I’m loving my Ridgeway hiker’s. They put no pressure on any spots of my feet which being in a wheelchair is so important to not get pressure sores on my feet. I can’t imagine going back to a regular shoe now because of the Xero shoes.

I want to share a couple of hacks that I found and work great for me. But first let me tell that I always had a weird walk, looking too stiff without understanding why. From this video I finally got it, it was because I was lifting my legs from my hip flexors only which also led to anterior pelvic tilt. I also noticed that when walking my anckles and knees remained basically all the time in the same position: feet like at 90° from shin and knee barely flexed. Then I realized that lifting the leg should be a coordinated task involving all the 3 joints, which led me to hack #1: bend the knees and ankles more!! way more, specially the kness, same as when pedaling a bycicle. When doing this I inmediatly felt a lot less stress in my hip flexors, I got a better posture and it also helps somehow to automatically land the feet in a better position, avoiding heel striking. But how much you should bend your knees? There's where I got hack #2: walking backwards, but like the moonwalk style. I mean, start by having one foot flat on the ground and the other one in a completely vertical position with only the tip of the toes touching the ground next to the heel of the other foot. This possition will tell you how much you should bend your knees without looking like marching. Then slowly and progressively lay the foot plant in the ground while steping backwards with the other foot (lifting it, not dragging it). This helps a lot to quickly train the brain on the new movement pattern while also helps with toe strenght and flexibility, plus, you feel a nice stretch of the plantar fascia afterwards. And finally, not a hack but I strongly recommend to do strenght, movility and estability exercices for toes, feet and ankles. Doing that helped my to get rid of hoffitis in my left knee, re-aling my toes, and improve arch strenght against pronation (work in progress) . With all of this I finally feel ready to invest some money in some nice barefoot shoes. Sorry for the long post, I just think it may be useful to someone else.

I used to have a pair of these. Absolutely loved them for one summer. Once the strap was adjusted right, they were both secure and comfortable. If they were built like the Z-Trek, I'd still have them, but the "trail foam" is the same as in the Z-Trail EV - which sadly means it breaks down. The "outsole" was fine, but one summer left the footbed fairly well worn down.

I just applied this on a 30-40 min walk with my dog, with a pair of barefoot shoes -not Xeros, I'm not selling the product- . First time without hip pain after 17 years. I repeat: 17 years. I've tried everything, physiotherapists, orthopedists, osteopaths and chiropractors, I went into surgery and finally orthopedic insoles. I don't comment videos very often, but I wanted to come back here just to say THANK YOU. Alessio from Italy

All of our shoes will feature removable insoles, so you can wear them in whichever way feels the most comfortable to you. If they feel like they are too barefoot or lacking cushion, you may want to throw them back in for that additional comfort, but you can definitely wear them without.

I don't know if it's just bad luck, but I got a hole in the mesh on one foot after just 6 months. Otherwise they are comfortable, but I don't think I will buy again with the poor durability of the mesh, I'm used to getting years out of the previous brand I have used. The hole formed on the flex part of the big toe right next to where the reinforcement is.

Question: When you walk this way and with the shortened stride, do you end up walking slower than you used to walk with the overstriding? I am new to barefoot shoes and already have several Xero shoes for different seasons, based on the Xero advice of Dr. Berry of KZbin fame. I love them but need to learn more to change decades of habit.

I want to say. I’m disabled in a wheelchair the last 15 years. I’ve gotta say I ONLY wear Xero Barefoot shoes. They have absolutely NO hot spots inside which for someone in a wheelchair it’s super important to wear shoes that holds your feet in a neutral position in the shoe. I have 5 pairs of Xero Shoes and currently I’m waiting for another pair to arrive. So I wanted to share this with you the wider toe box and neutral position of the shoes is absolutely essential even for someone who is wheelchair dependent for 15 years now. Thank you for making such a fantastic product for people that can walk and are also perfect for someone who can’t walk. Cheers

All of our shoes and sandals are designed to allow the foot to move, bend and flex naturally. This means that there is no arch support, minimal if any cushioning and wider than average forefoot to allow for toe splay. Our main concept is to allow you to move naturally, as if you were barefoot, but with protection! We would love to give you personal advice but we are not doctors and can't specifically answer or give advice regarding your question, but you may find more information at the customer recommended sites below: nutritiousmovement.com/blog/ sock-doc.com/

Very interesting!! How do they feel with microspikes? Too soft for any kind of real crampon, right? Or can the fabric-connection ones work? You (Xero) posted a FAQ below on "running on ice". Yeah, of course that works on flat surfaces. Not helpful for mountain trails. It'd be great to have the flexibility and stability etc of a natural shoe with the ability to don traction. Is this it?

The best sneaker I've ever purchased was the NIKE FREE RN 2017 . I have never been able to find anything like it. It had a very flexible, breathable , mesh upper....a very flexible outersole...and material that was nice and soft. It killed me to throw those away, knowing that I hadn't been able to replace them with anything else. Any Spot On suggestion...will be welcomed.

It sounds like you're looking for a shoe with a breathable, flexible, and comfortable upper with a flexible outsole. For this, we recommend styles like our HFS II, Speed Force II, or Nexus Knit. We have a lot of styles that would likely fit that bill, but these are some of our fan favorites.
