My oldest son is obsessed with hot air balloons now that we went to the international balloon fiesta in abq. He’s 2 and I cannot find a balloon toy for him to play with. Now I can make one!

AHHHH OMG THANK YOU There’s so many videos with a myriad of ways that are so convoluted and omg. I was just following one where you had to move the previous colour’s tail back and forth, skip a stitch, use the tail to make a “fake stitch, and go through the back loops… etc. 😂 I was resigned to just having ziggy zaggy work. You are amazing, thank you so much! EDIT: I have to also say holy cow, you’ve also got right and left handed instructions for everything. Incredibly thoughtful, you’re fantastic!

I'm so glad I found your video. I have been searching for a tutorial left handed uncomplicated seamless colour change . This demonstration was so helpful and it showed exactly where and when the colours are changed, with useful explanation on the ch1 being the new stitch on new row. Thanks for this. Much appreciated

How to make the nose?
@drewscrochet4 ай бұрын
Hi, the nose is like a carrot so you can make a very small cone - I made a magic ring with 6 st, then reduced it to 4, then to 2 - mark sure it is pointy and sew into head around row 9. You can get full instructions in my book here- rb.gy/bpydsu

How come you slip stitch, ch, then single crochet? Could you instead not chain and go straight to single crochet?
@drewscrochet4 ай бұрын
Hello, a slip stitch in the new colour helps to give that colour a level line as you change the colour. I find that if you miss out the slip stitch and just chain and then sc, when you finish the round, you find the colour change not quite so level. Hope that helps 🙂
@karissaperras2628Ай бұрын
@@drewscrochetI also have this same question and I see you did not answer it or maybe you misread. You slip stitch with the new color, then you ch 1, then you SC. Can you just slip stitch with new color, then SC, avoiding that ch 1 altogether? Also, are you going into the ch 1 or the top of the SC when you get back to the color change? On my end it looks like the ch but you say SC. Thanks.
@drewscrochetАй бұрын
@@karissaperras2628 so sorry you seem to be having trouble. There are many different ways to do a colour change but this works the best for me. As I explained in the video - making a sl. st., ch 1 and then sc in the first st sets you up for a colour change that is even and level and when you get back to the colour change (after crocheting the new colour round) you do indeed go into the ch and sc in that st as I state in the video 😃 but as I always say, that's the great thing about crochet - you can always find different ways to do things. There are different ways to do this and I hope you find the one that's best for you. All the best

Hi! I was wondering, do I do that stitch all the way around, or just once? Thank you!! ❤
@drewscrochet5 ай бұрын
Hi! Do this every time you want to increase a stitch. So, if the pattern says 'increase', you simply sc twice in the same stitch. Hope that helps!

Great tutorial - thank you very much. Do you have any tips for joining back post stitches in the round so that you can't see the seam?
@drewscrochet Жыл бұрын
Hi Erin, when you want to join back post stitches in the round, pinch both sides together so the wrong sides are together and then single crochet through both stitches all the way round. This will stand proud and simply look like the line you usually see when making back post stitches. Hope this helps 😀

@drewscrochet2 жыл бұрын

Hi Navaz - Thank you! Sizing depends on your wool and size of hook but with DK wool and a 3.5mm (E-4) hook, the snail is approximately 14cm tall (5.5'). You can find the complete pattern for Stanley the Snail in my book 'Welcome to Spring Amigurumi" available on Amazon.
