I'm disappointed in myself as i only brought one set from the 2015 wave and it was the protector of earth i adored that set but i just never got anymore of them i think they were only stocked at my Waterstones and i guess i was too into Star Wars, Ninjago that i never looked back. If they ever bring it back set number 40581 is the way to do it, it would be this interesting scale as they could do the figures brick built whilst giving us locations as well making them play sets would be really interesting and differentiate it from the previous versions. A brick built mask collection in the way they do the LEGO Star Wars Helmets would be a nice thing as well!

My problems are not the helmet holes but rather how the vizor print got narrower once they started with the holes in the helmets.

My Hot Take: The best Sequel sets are better than the best prequel era sets. I can't think of one prequel era set I would take over Kylo Ren's ships, Poe's X-Wing, First order Star Destroyer, Heavy Assault walker, or resistance bomber.

As a mega bionicle fan - no. Please dont bring back bionicle. Because Lego as is today can not capture the innovation of Bionicle and the vibes. G2 failed because they went with bigger (and completely unaffordable) is better. Early bionicle was weird and Lego is too vanilla these days. If you like bionicle, the lore is so dense and there are so many sets on bricklink, go on a nostalgia trip. You dont want bionicle back, you want the good old days back, so get something from there.

Ucs needs a minifigure and I think atleast one of them should be exclusive. It’s another reason why you spend that money.

I can get the downscale in any other sets like the boba fett slave 1 but a clone turbo tank is pretty awful for a downscale

At this point im starting TO question how Lego Starwars fans can say Lego Starwars sets are low quality when im the side of Lego continues to make some excellent sets in the Starwars line .There are licensed themes from Lego I consider to be inferior like super heroes harry potter and other licensed themes that suffer from a worse experience . The helmet holes on phase 2 clones I never thought looked bad either the waist capes arent the biggest deal but it would be nice to have the physical waist capes but even than that piece can make it hard for minifigures to sit which isnt wrong for standing up they work just fine .

It is lower quality with some stuff the sith eyes, the overzized stormtrooper helmets, the helmet holes aren’t terrible. The older helmets look more accurate to me. We still have the older helmets so for me it’s not a problem. Some of the older figure designs, definitely had better quality. Especially the previous Sith figs. The overall quality to me isn’t there. When only 2 sets in the wave are playsets. When everything else is a helmet or scaled down ship. Or the Lego funkos they do. I’m sure it’s easy to make stuff look nicer with less pieces ,and no figs. Helmet sets are just a lazy product imo. There’s hardly any prequel era sets. The only display set they did for the prequels. Was the pod race. They missed the perfect opportunity, to make a really cool display of the final battle in ep1.

Yeah I remeber as a child how dumb it was when they moved away from it and you could customize the clones anymore. The helmet with no holes always felt off

I loved when the clone wars P1 Clones came out, I loved putting visors or whatever attachments I want. Even now, ive made a few commander clones from the leftovers. Plus, these minifigures are made for CHILDREN first and foremost

Actually, Bionicle ended when they stopped making play set packaging(canisters). Around when Hero Factory Breakout came out.

This video really made some of my deepest memories surface. I remember waking up christmas morning 2005 and finding Ogel's Base from Alpha Team under the christmas tree. Really powerful memory for me

Agree, Death Star has to be the best Lego set ever released, it needs to have an incredible interior with lots of rooms/scenes and an option to panel it up for sure

It’ll be interesting to see this Death Star set. Definitely excited. Would be a great way to get classic officers we’ve not seen yet, like Chief Bast, General Tagge, and Admiral Motti. Plus a better version of Tarkin would be nice.

nice video 👌 g2 was actually originally supposed to be an original new theme kinda like chima/hero factory. it was made Bionicle to save on marketing costs. the 2015 sets were made in a short turn around which is probably why they're just glorified hero factory & the 2016 ones were supposed to be their own thing. this is pretty new info that not many people know about but I figured to leave the comment for food for thought.
