There is no condemnation for those Christians who are obedient to God's laws. Sinning Christians are claiming the rights to gifts from God that are not theirs. They hear these scriptures and assume they are intended for them out of a sense of entitlement that the false church promotes.

Jesus said that no one can come to him unless the Father draws them to him. False religion is in the majority of Christian churches today. People believe that all they have to do is announce that they now believe in Jesus, and Salvation is theirs because they made their decision for heaven. People have become so arrogant that they think God is their follower. In truth, God never handed over his authority to decide salvation to human beings to decide their own fate. False churches have filled the minds of false converts with a sense of entitlement that is completely corrupt. We should be at the feet of Jesus, asking him to accept us, rather than announcing that we accept him. Where is the reverence that we owe him? People like the idea that they are calling all of the shots and their destiny is in their full control. They are so filled with pride. They don't want to bow down. Corrupt churches no longer teach that we are actually at God's mercy.

I've never read any passage that says we should live radically different from other people. Most people are nice, respectful people. They're simply misguided when they do things that break accordance with God's law.

The protestant church split from the Western Church...and it hasn't stopped dividing since, often over the most ridiculous claims and objections. Sadly the history of Protestantism is the best argument for why Biblical interpretation should be done by the guardians of the church, not a worship leader, not you or me, not a pastor with a secret sin, but the church past, present and future. We say, let the Bible interpret itself, but we then end up with thousands of denominations and discord between believers. It cannot be avoided that fallen humans interpret the Bible so allowing a handful in one or two generations to shape belief is intrinsically dangerous. Look at the Pope, the most influential Christian in the world and the present incumbent is so loose with the accuracy of his language he sews seeds of chaos everywhere but even still he cannot change doctrine which remains unchanged. Yet most protestant "bible believing" churches have compromised with the alphabet agenda and many if not the majority remain silent on abortion, yet even the pope, this loose cannon leader recently called abortionists hitmen, which the Belgian government was not happy with. Despite being a protestant I am not enamored with it and am basically convinced Sola Scriptura is indefensible and has resulted in the radically compromised church of today. We need to ground biblical interpretation in the traditions of the church and be transparent about it. And because there are so many interpretations we should really repeal 95% of these and go back to the beliefs of the church prior to the reformation and ask our selves honestly whether we should just leave it as is, if it needs minor tweaking or actual reform.

After listening to our pastors share from scripture and their hearts, it’s a beautiful thing to see them, allowing all of us the grace to trust in ourvotes. But if our candidate or candidates do not win, we are called to pray for those who the Lord has allowed to assume those positions. Thank you pastors! It was very freeing. It is good that we are not being told who to vote for.

GREAT DISCUSSION

This is another example of seeker friendly pastors, who have no courage to speak the truth. We have never had an election that the lines have been drawn that could be clearer than they are right now. If you have people in your congregation that are voting for the killing of babies, gay marriage and the transitioning of young girls and boys and opposition of Israel. That is your fault as a pastor that they are voting differently than biblical values. As believers, we are to hate what God hates and love what God loves. Round tables like this just produce more confusion because some pastors have no backbone. SMH

I appreciate that comments were kept open. I appreciate that the church is willing to have this discussion. One of the pastors mentioned voting based on the character of the candidate, and I'll admit that threw me off. Indirectly, I feel as though our church leaders are in favor of one candidate over another. I don't feel it's fair to make that assessment, but here we are. To that point I would suggest that it's better to judge one by their fruits, rather than what we are led to believe. I'm not sure it's our place to judge anyone really, and so I just follow my best instincts when voting for a candidates. I attempt to look at their record and what they've advocated for and if that lines up with God's plan in scripture. The whole topic is polarizing, and I don't feel church can adequately discuss this without alienating someone. Especially in our church that is unique and diverse. At the end of the day it's God's plan, and we have to learn to accept earthly outcomes, and keep our eyes fixed on heaven. Prayer for our brothers and sisters of all backgrounds is most important. Sharing God's love without manipulating or distorting His truths is my mindset. Trump 2024 😂

As you said, it is a difficult discussion especially within the church and we're glad that you shared your thoughts! "At the end of the day it's God's plan, and we have to learn to accept earthly outcomes, and keep our eyes fixed on heaven. Prayer for our brothers and sisters of all backgrounds is most important. Sharing God's love without manipulating or distorting His truths is my mindset." Amen and amen to this☝️. As earthly kingdoms rise and fall, let's keep our eyes fixed on the King of Kings and His kingdom.

Christians should vote according to the principles God places on mankind in the Bible, His Holy Word. We are not acting as Christians if we just sit on the sidelines and not say anything. What if Christians had say on the sidelines on the issue of slavery? I do not think mankind would have found the moral grounding on their own to unwind that horrible institution. Christians must stand up for what is Biblically right, they must be vocal, and they must vote. If the vote, and the resultant leaders, ends up contrary to what Christians supported, then we accept that God is in control, nothing happens apart from His will.

What are your thoughts? We felt we could all agree that a good practice is to examine our feelings and consider them through the lens of scripture. We also agreed that every Christian should take caution and ask themselves the question, "Am I making a choice based on personal benefit, or a decision with the Kingdom of Heaven in mind?" As it is, no earthly choice can substitute the ultimate choice of Christ as King of kings.

If we are to look at our feelings through the lens of Scripture wouldn’t we realize that we are not called to live by our feelings at all? Doesn’t the Bible teach us to learn to love what God loves and hate what he hates. It’s pretty clear from Scripture the things that he hates and the things that he loves. Don’t we become complicit in supporting people that want to further what God hates? Since there is no perfect sinless candidate, shouldn’t we be supporting those that most closely align with what God loves? Maybe the problem is that we are not really clear on what God loves?
@WheatonBible

If we are to look at our feelings through the lens of Scripture wouldn’t we realize that we are not called to live by our feelings at all? - Correct! Feelings, a powerful source of motive, are a futile source of wisdom. Christians are exhorted to take our mind's thoughts and our heart's desires into captivity and examine them through the lens of scripture and ultimately Jesus. Since there is no perfect sinless candidate, shouldn’t we be supporting those that most closely align with what God loves? - This is the consensus our pastors came to as well. As simple as we may wish it were however, many political parties hold certain policies that can arguably align with God's precepts. This still leaves Christian voters with a decision to make. Our hope in all of this dialogue is simply that we as Christians would work through our decision with the Lord. At the end of the day, take heart because God's ultimate redemption plan remains unchanged.

Now I ask you, why is it everywhere? I’m not going to give you my answer until I hear your selfish answer.
@Loepul
@Loepul 2 ай бұрын
It’s everywhere for two reasons. The first reason is that the disciples spread it. Matthew 28:19 is where Jesus tells us about the great commission where he says to “Go and make disciples”. Many people have gone on mission to almost, if not to every country now to preach the gospel. The second reason is colonialism. Colonists went and colonized everything and in doing so, spread their religion, which many colonists believed in Christianity. The first reason is how it’s supposed to be. We are called to spread the Gospel message. We tell others and answer questions, give advice, and explain our beliefs and truths to others so that they can then chose themselves whether to believe given the evidence. The second reason could have been good, if not for the way they spread it. I haven’t been in a history class in a while, but from what I remember, the colonists would find these natives, tell them about Christianity, and if they didn’t follow it they would kill them pretty much. Obviously, this is not biblical, but nothing we can do about that, now we march on spreading the Gospel like Jesus had taught us to.

@@Loepul well actually it wasn’t everywhere, for example the Mayans the Incas and the Aztecs etc. They were tortured and forced to believe in Christianity and many Africans also. What ever you say to protect your claims or an excuse to what they did is not reality.

@@Loepul a lot of natives turn away from Christianity because of the forced literature and teachings it is wrong to believe in something that destroyed communities and societies.
@Loepul
@Loepul 2 ай бұрын
@@ManuelRodriguez-fb1qq I know it wasn't everywhere *at the time*, but the reason it is everywhere Now is because of those two reasons, as well as advances in technology and such. I addressed how people were killed, but I guess I should have included tortured too. There is no excuse for what those people did, and if we're being honest, they're probably in hell with the people they failed to convert to Christianity. It was crappy people doing a good thing, and Jesus preached on this. Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves." The teacher might be false, but the words they speak still can bear fruit. It was not Christianity itself that destroyed communities and societies, it was the people spreading it, as we both have said the colonizers murdered and tortured those who didn't believe. It's not the natives fault they were murdered, and it's not Christianity that drove the settlers to kill, it was their own desire to rule the land, hearts, and minds of the Incas, Aztecs, Mayans, Native Americans, etc. etc., that drove them to kill and torture.

First off , GOD and JESUS are not a religion , THEY are a relationship . Christianity is another form of a cult , which is religion . Name one verse in the Bible where JESUS said follow the Christians . JESUS said follow HIM . Religion took what GOD is about and turned it into a business . Million dollars churches , yet there people not making it .
