I tried it last night and found it quite relaxing. Though, a variation I did was to take multiple goes at the same checkout (but for the scoring of the game only the first attempt counts). But if you try the same checkout over and over it is better for the automatic memory of what to do, because at a more beginner or intermediate level, you are not going to hit lesser trebles consistently on the first try so often (or even the singles). If you go for the same checkout 20 times (e.g. 80 - as t16 - d16), you will invariably end up hitting every combination over a period of 20+ attempts and start to see all the various consequential options if dart 1 doesn't go where intended, or dart 2 doesn't go where intended and so on. As someone who likes to try to always set up D16 or D8 where possible, I found 83 an interesting conundrum, and I ended up playing on the same checkout probably over 50 times. I wanted T17 D16, but over the course of many attempts I must have hit every conceivable 1st and 2nd dart combo within a few inches of the T17. For example, S17 > Bull > D8 is a nice shot. Many times I actually hir S17 > 25 > 25 as a set up. Never once I hit S17 > 25 > BULL, however, to leave D1. I also ended the night throwing about 50 times on 80 and checked-out on the weirdest combo ever T11 > T15 > D1 (obviously, I was going for S15 on the 2nd dart after the first accidental treble to leave D16, but on hitting the treble I left only the double 1. Anyway, it's fin because you see just how many combinations there are (a bit like in chess moves).

I've never taken my darts further because of finishing. I can hit 180 and more or less anything I want on the board but the Maths does me and as you mentioned in this video, breaks the flow of darts and it's like throwing the first dart again. Not good. This is by far the best video I have seen to help me and will definitely try some finishes this way next time. Thanks

How do you keep in mind the amount you scored and the amount remaining at once? For chalking.

These videos are really great, however I love to use 18s whenever i can, thats my strenght...so like 111 I'd go 17s if I hit single> 54 then 40, if I hit 51 first dart 60 left would then be of course T20 D20. Either way, these videos are fantastic, and I would recommend them to anyone 👍🏻😁👍🏻

I really love the sound reasoning for your checkout suggestions. As a new player, it really helps with my critical thinking about the game, going beyond blind reliance on established checkout tables. That really helps me feel more in control in what could otherwise be a very intimidating game: so encouraging & confidence building regardless of my or anyone's initial skill. ?? QUESTION: Per the Checkout for 105. - You suggest if you miss to either the 1 or the 5 you still have a finish. - ?? Are you suggesting a finish of 104 with 2 darts Did I mishear? Thanks for this series. I know I'll revisit your videos multiple times as my mental grasp of the game evolves.

Take note from the king of bling: 102 checkout should start with treble 16 Options of misses are better and if you miss on the treble 1 your left with 99

108 high low on 18 leaves an out (107 and 104). Its the t1 that fails when compared to T8/T7

Hitting T20 on 119 leaves you 59, which is even nicer than the 69 you mentioned, and is the actual reason behind the T20 shot on 119. Bull 19 Bull sounds funny though

Can see why people could pick maths over better at shots and also picking better shot for yourself than mathematically better. Doesn't matter if you know better maths route if you can't hit what you need. Goes both ways. You don't want to use something that helps you count when your trying to tell people they need to count down. Counting up or down you'll only get better doing it yourslef

I agree! It really adds the pressure. For me I play until I take a finish over 100 - but you can adjust it to your own skill level! A great idea if you're newer is to set "tiers". Like 60+, 80+, 100+, and once you reach those levels you don't fall back below the baseline. Or use 6 darts instead of 3! Its very flexible.

@@Grandi74 Awesome! What you'll find as well that if you keep doing the routes and math correctly - you keep finding yourself on the same paths! That makes it even easier to get all the outs down.
