Thanks for the great review! Could you share if the 24-hour subdial can be independently set? Would love to use it as a GMT.

This isn't necessarily a problem if you're not a purist. I mostly wear 3-handers and seeing a stationary second hand on a chronograph is always a puzzle for a split second - "Has this thing stopped? Oh, I need to check the tiny running second hand.". So, for me it's definitely a non-issue, maybe even a plus!

These are based on the internals of lesser known DW-56RT G-Shock from 2006. That G-Shock has the largest time digits I have ever seen on a Square G-Shock.

Still watching the video, but I have to comment. I wore this watch today. Hower, mine says Ratio on it :-) This is a 1:1 copy of Ratio 1066KE26-33VA. If I have to guess, the same factory made it, and these guys just slapped the logo. I have the orange version. Ratio have been around for quite a few years. I paid it 115EUR 4 years ago. I see it for 170EUR - 200EUR online now. The only thing that always bothered me about this watch is that I never knew whether end link being so much lower than the lugs is deliberate or it's bad engineering. From every other point, this one is a perfection.
@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces5 күн бұрын
Probably from the same factory although Deep Blue has been around about a decade longer than Ratio. Definitely looks identical though with the same spec. Thanks.
@johnnybegood90054 күн бұрын
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces You are probably correct. I have nothing against copying, by the way. I wish there were more revisions, not only of this watch. Deep Blue has better hands. They look plastic(y) on Ratio. Regardless of the label, this watch is awesome, and I recommend anyone to get it. I way that as a proud owner of a 300+ collection. Great video.
@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces4 күн бұрын
@johnnybegood9005 300! That's quite the collection. Agree though, it is a great watch.

What would be your rank considering Timex Q chrono, Marlin Chrono and this Casio Edifice Chrono?
@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces5 күн бұрын
That's tough. I think I prefer the Q Timex between the 3 but they're all a good watch.

it use to be best budget watch 15 years ago. It hasn't been for a long time, but you guys keep repeating stuff like parrots. Today, it's a tin can. So many better and cheaper alternatives out there today.

I have to agree but this is a 5 year old video and at the time this version was a new release.

The 24h subdial at 3 o'clock is useless. The watch already has an hour hand.

It's useful if you live in a basement with no windows, in a polar region or on a board of an atomic submarine 😉
@MrBacchus184 күн бұрын
I can find a use for it on a mechanical watch but on a quartz chronograph it's ridiculous.

Hi, which one u think looks better Timex marlin chronograph white dial or champagne dial with steel strap?
@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces6 күн бұрын
I like both. Might slightly prefer the champagne. I like the gold pushers on that one.

Bob---This may be outside of your wheelhouse, but I would be curious to your analysis of: A). Exactly what is it a watch buyer would get for $3,000 to $4,000 in a Swiss brand that they don't get in a Seiko Marinemaster? I suspect it's the same reason the Toyota Land Cruiser didn't sell more units in the U.S. (despite it being one of the most capable off-road vehicles in the world). Americans didn't want to spend $90,000 on a, "Toyota". Yet, these same Americans have no problem dropping that same $90k on an Escalade or an Audi..........which will likely spend almost as much time in the shop as on the road. B). I know you're not a mind reader, but I'd be curious as to why (YOU think) Seiko would switch from the Marinemaster text on the dial, to the "X"? My main issue with the Prospex logo is that, there are Prospex diver's that retail for $800. Why cheapen the, "Marinemaster" brand by using the same logo that's on your $800 watches. It would be like Mercedes Benz using the AMG designation on their entry-level series of vehicles. And, to further frustrate and confuse buyers, Seiko turns around and includes the Marinemaster text on the model with the textured black dial (and I think another model or two). Seiko is all over the place (and in my opinion, offers too many watches). SEEMS like, at any one time Seiko has 50 different divers on the market. 'Choice' is good. Too much choice leads to paralysis.
@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces6 күн бұрын
Hi there. Those a full video worthy questions there. For the first on I don't believe you get much more if any with similar priced Swiss Made. Depends on the brand but I worked as a manager of a boutique that carried Seiko and several Swiss brands including lot's of Swatch Group brands. I found a watch like this to be superior to comparables. There is the qc issues occasionally but not as often in the higher end Seiko from what I'd seen. The Prospex/Marinemaster thing didn't bother me but it does muddy up what the Prospex line is. The new Marinemasters confuse it even more. I've kind of stayed away from Seiko lately to be honest but I'm sure I'll be back. Sorry this is hard to answer by text but I tried. Merry Christmas!

Beautiful watch in the right size. I've had the "Green" version for half a year. It works perfectly, only having to move it 4 seconds a day. The diving bezel has no play at all, which is unusual for a watch of this price. The luminous material is a little weak, but that's acceptable. Overall, a great watch for a fair price.

Deep Blue is a great value for what you get, I had the master 1000 and sold it because it was just too big, even on the rubber strap it was heavy. I believe they make a 42mm which is the sweet spot for me. Nice looking watch Bob, fits nicely on you:))

I have a good friend that used to work on an oil rig + or - 500 kms from the cost, and used to stay in dutty for long periods. He told me that having a diving watch (a propper diver´s professional, with ISO certification) with a calendar of day AND date was amazing, because it was normal to ge lost in time when being off shore for 3, 4 or 5 weeks. He didn´t have to worry about nothing in or out of the water (he was a mechanical tecnician) because his turtle was a true parter and never let him down. I bought my first Turtle almost 10 years a go because of him, and now I own a King Turtle (black dial) and use it on a silicon strap anthought I have 2 or 3 bracelets. It´s my favorite watch, and it´s aways on my wrist.
