Btw, is there any chance you could do a tutorial on how to make an avatar with snappable body parts, like your drone has? Removable arms, head, legs, etc. It'd be nice if it were to show setting the parts up so they can also be snapped to other folks' bodies too.

Sort of. Press F8 to enter/exit desktop mode where you control yourself via WASD. You can snap your camera to UI panels and align things to your view so you can create your own studio in a way.

@RustyManufacturing28 күн бұрын
Actually the intro is sometimes first! The demo object is built days before any recording happens. Then I practice building it object 3-4 times before recording to make as much of it muscle memory as possible, that way I can just focus on talking while the camera's rolling. You can tell the intro was first in this one because the version in the intro doesn't have the OnMiss contingency lol.

Followed along this as my first experience with protoflux, and it worked nicely. I changed the animation though, I made it scale down to 0, then I set the parent, location and rotation, and then I made it scale back to 1. I noticed that if I parent first then move the parent while it animates, the object also moves which doesn't look intended. Easy to fix if you hide the object while changing its parent like I did, but if with a "recall" animation I'm not sure how you could fix it.. you'd have to get the object to chase its snaptarget without reparenting it first?
@RustyManufacturingАй бұрын
Essentially. If you're going for the effect you're describing with a changing target position like that you would need to control the object directly using While loop which is a bit more advanced than a Tween. Love to hear about the modification too! I made a similar effect for someone a while back. Glad you got creative with it.

This much interaction between other peoples avatars is INSANE
@SierraSierraFoxtrotАй бұрын
Yes, the openness is amazing. OFC it comes at a cost: security... It's a problem in the metaverse which is yet to be solved.
@AsrielWasTaken26 күн бұрын
@@SierraSierraFoxtrot Sorry to bother, but can you give some examples of security risks that come with this freedom? I am genuinely curious.
@SierraSierraFoxtrot26 күн бұрын
@@AsrielWasTaken simple: to interact with your avatar means people get access to the code your avatar runs. When you hand someone part of your costume you're giving them code to run, and when you take it back you might get back a copy with different code. Resonite runs code locally, that has potential for all sorts of shenanigans.

Either use the SetCharacterGravity node or make a custom locomotion module, there's a default zero-g preset if you decide on the latter.

Wow, ever seen something and been sure you're looking at the future? This is absolutely mind blowing. Ever since I read ready player one Ive dreamed of the moment I could point at a real, tangible thing and say: "that, THATS what the book was about". This video alone is a fulfillment of what I thought were impossible wishes for VR as a platform. Resonite is a precursor to a genuine, honest to god Oasis. I cant even begin to describe how hyped I am for the future of this platform. This must have been how people felt seeing bitcoin for the first time, or how the audience felt at the first iphone unveiling. Just knowing with absolute certainty you're looking at the next game changer. Im glad I get to be one of the first people to see this. Ive been a huge VR enthusiast since the rift launched, been playing vrchat since 2018 and this just blows my mind. THIS is what Ive been waiting for. 20 years from now when ready player one looks like childs play compared to the current VR tech, I'll be honored to say I experienced the start of all this. Seriously, this video made me jump out of my chair and dance around the room like an idiot. I cant wait to see whats next for resonite
