So.. She is singing "dont see the world in blak -and- white"... my mind was like warped by that line, what does it mean?.

My father played this for me one time around the fire. "Kate, you gotta hear this song! It reminded me of you!" And he played this. This was when I was on a John Prine kick and I had asked him if he liked him as well, because one thing we both loved dearly was good music. I cried when he played it because it was so sweet and made a lot of sense... I was a handful growing up and still am to this day. On Halloween this year he died at 71 in his favorite airplane alongside his good friend, after 56 years of safe flying and even saving himself and others from emergency situations. He was a legend in the world of light sport and homebuilding and the world lost not only an iconic aviator, but the worlds best dad. I can't stop listening to this song. It will always be so special to me and have so so many layers of meaning.

Indeed John Prine remain alive as long as there's one of his admirers playing any of his masterpieces of country music...and there're hosts of new fans discovering this wonderful man's songs every day.

I faintly remember as a child hearing Merle then it was 1969 and I remember okie from Muskogee, between him, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Roger Miller, Waylon and Kris Country music was what became my favorite type of Music. Even now at 63 it is still my favorite, Alan, Reba, Garth, Kenny, Jason, Both Lukes, it is great.

This was honestly one of the greatest nights of my life. A truly spiritual experience listening to his solo, acoustic performance in that building. I can't believe I just now am seeing it, but thank you for allowing me to revisit the amazing feelings from that night!🖤
