Your journal is so gorgeous!! I gave Lock Every Door 3.5 stars, so very close to your rating. I did guess quite a lot of the plot, but now what they were actually doing (so hard to say without spoilers!). Then Survive the Night I gave 3 stars (read both of them lately) but lots of people in my book club completely hated it! I'm glad you liked It Ends With Us! Lots of people talk smack about Colleen Hoover but I also felt like It Ends With Us was a very important story to be told!
@manda_made20 күн бұрын
Awe! Thanks Chloe! Totally agree with you about Lock Every Door… I wouldn’t have made the same decisions lol. I go back and forth on Colleen Hoover books. I loved Verity, and enjoyed it Ends with Us, but I think her books could use a LOT more editing. Then again, romance is not my favorite genre, so I can’t rate her too hard. Just not my thing.

So many readathons next month! I was only aware of Shorty September hosted by PaSTORY Time (I think). The purpose of that one is to read short books, 200ish pages or less. They have tarot cards with prompts that are shorts (the article of clothing) themed.
@manda_madeАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing! I’ve added their video to the playlist so others can find it too. Have you narrowed down which short books you’ll read?
@amyschmelzer6445Ай бұрын
@@manda_made I haven’t actually matched my books up to the prompts. I like to read classics and I have 5 that are on my September/October pile of possibilities. For spooky season I have eight of Edgar Allan Poe’s short stories. I enjoy sci-fi movies and tv, so HG Wells’ The War of the Worlds has been on my radar since I was a kid. He was a Victorian author so I am getting a jumpstart on Victober with that book and two others of his. Anthony Trollope is another Victorian author that classics readers rave about but he is new to me. I am going to try out The Warden.

First I want to say I love your videos and creativity. Losing footage is hard but this video is great. Now since I can tell you really love Disney from this read a thon you did I want to recommend a book series. The kingdom keepers by Ridley Pearson is a ya middle grade book series set in Disneyworld in Florida. I believe later books have other parks too. It's a fun action packed sci Fi fantasy involving some middle schoolers and a mystery at the parks involving actual Disney characters. The characters come to life at night. It's so much fun and a really quick read. The author even updated the books a while back to show the updates to the actual rides in the park. It just made me think you might enjoy it.

Love watching your journaling videos! Found your channel a couple videos ago and whenever I watch one of your videos I want to pop my journal out 😂 Do you have any videos explaining how you make your little pamphlets and things? Or consider doing one? I believe I remember you saying you use Canva but I just love those additions to your journal.
@manda_madeАй бұрын
That is such a huge compliment! Thank you. 🥰 I think most of the pamphlets you've seen are part of the Readathons I participate in, and were created by the host. So I just print them out and make some type of pocket to store them in, But otherwise Canva is an awesome tool. They have so many templates you can adjust for your own purposes. I just use the free version, and find that I can still make really cool things. I'm putting this down in my "video ideas" list because I agree that when I was first learning Canva, it would have been nice to follow a video with the tricks. I'm certainly not a pro, but I could share some simple set up things.

May I know what printer you use to print out the pictures please and paper :) I love your journal! You're so creative with all your layouts ^_^
@manda_madeАй бұрын
Of course! I invested in a really nice one, but I've always had cheap printers before that were such headaches. Most of what I print is journal stuff, photographs, and art prints. I LOVE this one for what I use it for, but it is specifically for photo printing. So, It does not print on copy paper well, or at least what I've tried so far. I use the thick paper for flaps and the thinner brochure paper for most other things. I highly recommend if its in your budget and you would use mostly for photos. If you want a more multi-purpose printer, I'd check out the other Canon Pixma models. Also, If you have an okay printer already, sometimes all it takes is the right paper to make a better print. My bougie PHOTO printer - Canon Pixma Pro a.co/d/4WJpH7W 66lb THICK photo paper - A Sub Glossy Paper a.co/d/c5nAzmr 37lb THIN photo paper - Uinkit Brochure Paper a.co/d/9siyUkT

I love that you've used bookmarks and other elements that tuck into pockets, so cool! you could maybe use some of those blank pages at the end to reflect on the six months-- from what spreads worked, ideas for the future, what books stood out; maybe some personal journaling too, so when looking back at what you were reading you can also have some idea of what was going on in your personal life as well.
