Great video! I love the little “mini books” you read in a genre with the favorite on the cover. I saw your 2025 reading journal and was so inspired I decided to make one of my own. I don’t journal but your ideas seem so easy to keep up with and I am finding this to be very helpful. I would love to join a Fantasy book club online for this year. Just the idea of a book club with real people and not just Kindle and Good-books recommendations excites me. You are very inspiring ❤

love the advent calendar idea!! how do you hear about/find out about the different readathons? i think i’d like to do one, but honestly, i have no idea how they work, so i would need one that really explains things. great video as always!! ps boris is adorable!!
@manda_made9 күн бұрын
There are so many types of readathons. If you search within KZbin for "Readathon" and then filter to videos posted within a few weeks, that is the way I find the options. Easier readathons would be a self-guided prompt style. Your given all the prompts up front and you read from them throughout the month. Different creators will have fun themes. One I'm looking forward to is Forensic February. Then there are more team based / story ones typically hosted on Discord. The hosts always go into great detail on how to play. Some favorites last year were Magical Readathon (All year), Realmathon (March) and Escape the Readathon (May)

I love the 'places I went to' page 😍 What do you do if a book is set in different places? Do you write them all in or just the 'main' one? The Wager and The Cruel Prince have been on my tbr for a while oops. I take this as a sign to read them this year :D Choosing a favourite for each genre is such a good idea. I'll keep it in mind for this year. Hopefully I'll read few different genres and find something I'll like because so far I was not very lucky haha. Inez and Kaz yes yes yes
@manda_made11 күн бұрын
I wrote both places down if a book had a few, but I would only write London once, even if 5 of my books took place there. (I’m noticing I wrote Maine twice by mistake).

You def have some of the best ideas on your reading journal that Ive seen from so many vids Ive watched the past few weeks. I got Daughter of the Pirate King after seeing your 2025 reading journal vid and am about to start reading it. I wrote down 6 more from the books mentioned here. As for me Ive been loving T Kingfisher these last several months. My fav KindleUnlimited find was The Divine Shallows by Alexandra M Tran. Its a fae fantasy book and I believe its the authors first book published and I hope her book gets enough love that she continues writing. Im not good at writing descriptions but maybe someone sees this comment and looks it up.

As a proud kiwi I would rather us be left off maps then placed in the Indian ocean (or elsewhere) hahaha. It's like saying oh i'll just go ahead and place America in the Indian ocean just so it fits in with the other continent's, it's a weird design layout from the map creators 😂😂 (I have seen your comments about why you think it was placed there, and I know you didn't design it but oh my, it was all i could look at and think about, and it was the first thing I noticed when you brought it out hahahha) Love your designs and layouts though!

Thanks friend! We posted our December wraps on the same day. Twins! 🤩 and I hear you! December was so busy with all the holiday celebrations and hosting family. I really enjoy a cozy December morning with a novella though, so I picked up several this month. Don't Let the Forest In was great! I loved the writing, especially for a YA book, and while I'm not a big horror fan, this one really captivated me. And the cover is GORGEOUS. I'm so mad I didn't buy the edition with the green edges when I saw it. 😂 Hoping that because her first book was a hit, her next book Hazelthorn will get some special editions.

This is amazing! I'm doing a Hobbit themed reading journal. Did you print on off white paper?
@manda_made20 күн бұрын
So fun!!! I love the Hobbit. My headers are printed on off white cardstock, and then also on white printer paper when I ran out. After I distressed it, they looked pretty similar. The cardstock was easier to distress because it was a thicker paper.

do you print your headings on regular white printer paper and then use the distress pad? or did you use a different color printer paper?
@manda_made26 күн бұрын
For most of the journal I used a light beige colored cardstock, but I ran out of it and switched to white printer paper, and they looked very similar. It is easier to distress the edges on paper of heavier weight though. It was my first time using the tool and I was shocked at how fun and easy it was. 😂

I happened upon your channel, and I am so happy I did! I absolutely love your Reading Journal for 2025!!! I have decided to try my hand this year at doing a Reading Journal myself. YAY! I am SO EXCITED for you to start your own reading journal! You're going to have a blast. 🏴☠️ I'm so glad that you fell in love with my 2025 reading journal, but also know that it's taken me years to find "my style." When I first started, I also thought I was not creative or artistic enough to make beautiful journals, but with practice I got better and better. I found my strength lies more in a layouts and scrapbook style journaling, whereas others will paint gorgeous spreads, or use fabulous stickers. Every person brings their own unique beauty to their journals. I look back at my older journals now, and while they may not be as exciting, I am so proud of the girl who made them because she had so much fun doing so. SO... don't discount your creative ability. Just have fun with it and don't be afraid to experiment. 🫶🏻 I am honored that you've chosen to subscribe to my channel, and I hope that my videos continue to inspire you. So glad you're here! Happy journaling. 🖤

I’m definitely going to do the alphabet challenge, bingo idea, and reading stats in my own, and I’m going to check out the adventure challenge one as well if I can find out more about it. I’ve never joined a readathon though. Where would I find some to join in?

You'll see from my past videos that I started small and slowly added/left out things each year that didn't work for me. It's all about trying it out and learning what works for you. I love The Magical Readathon hosted by @bookroast - She hasn't posted the 2025 Adventure yet, but I'm sure she will this week. My other favorites this year were Realmathon (March) by @coverswithcassidy and Escape the Readathon (May) by @bookswithlexie, and Fablen by @thewordn3rd.
