Gave up after the first couple of minutes, so much effort just to create that tool, I'd rather just buy another C50 and sell the old one for spare

I'm unworthy of such praise. I'm willing to help, if there are questions. I feel I may have confused some people with my bore scope, having used a mirror at times. By the way, Be sure to tape the mirror on. So you don't loos it. You made my day.

just want to make sure, the pin you pushed is the same pin you used to rivet back the chain?....im trying to look for master link for magna but it looks like they are not available

It's the same pin. I only pushed it to the far side of the link. If you push it all the way out, you'll have a hard time putting it back in. It'd be helpful to practice on an old chain. I don't know if the Magna chain is the same width as the Suzuki.

The problem is, The chain wears out and makes noise.

It would at least make noise. But, a worn out chain could rub on other parts and contaminate the oil. The worse case would be a broken chain, or jump a tooth.

I have a few questions if you would be able to message me somehow. The main one, what do you use for the final pin you use to rivet the chain together? And how strong is the connection?

Sorry for the delayed response. The pin that's used, is the one that I broke the new chain with. I didn't push it all the way out of the side plate. It's at the tail end of the new chain that was connected to the old chain. The connection is good. As long as the pin doesn't move. (I don't think it'll move.) Are you in the Bay Area? I'm in San Jose.

I used to do a similar procedure with roller link style chains back in the day but this is the first time I've seen someone do this with this style chain. Nice work mate and thanks for the concise description, very informative.

Thank you. I'd like to add a comment for those who don't watch the entire video. At 28:10 I talk about having grease in the wrong set screw. It may effect the swaging. And if possible, turn the screw that's swaging the bad end of the pin. The screws have about the same pitch.

That's a smart way to do this but very tricky lol!!! Great job though I'm going to have to change mine on my C50T soon or a later thanks for the detailed information!!

Thank you. On my first M50 I pulled the engine, and removed the cam covers, and threaded the new chains over the cam sprockets. Leaving the heads on. If you're doing only one chain, I would leave the engine in. If you're doing both chains, I think you could do the front one by, removing the engine bolts, the front engine mount, The large pivot bolt on the left side of the swing arm, the radiator, the radiator cap housing, Some bolt or sensor on the front of the cylinder or head, and the fan, as I recall. Now the engine is resting on the frame and can be pried to the left with a pry bar on the head and frame to remove the two long bolts. I think the cam cover can then be removed, and the chain replaced with the cam in the head. Removing the filter may help. Even this may be easier then removing the engine. I did reassemble the bike in the video and started it. It had piston slap or rod knock from all the rust that was in the oil. The oil looked like chocolate milk, when I got it. The guy who bought it is happy and riding it. I got two tickets in the in the mail from him being in the fast track lane.
