What must one do if the other person is not ready to forgive ?
@elizabethverghese989Ай бұрын
The subject of “forgiveness”is rarely spoken about or discussed, but “unforgiveness” is commonly seen in our day to day lives. Thank u for presenting this vital topic. The Bible teaches us the importance of forgiveness. Stephen’s only fault was that he proclaimed “Jesus is Lord” The missionaries who came years ago built schools n colleges to educate people & missionary hospitals in remote areas, they helped to abolish slave trade, also emancipated women who were mistreated. Inspite of doing good, they were treated unjustly n with contempt, but they didn’t retaliate, they continued serving with love, leaving the consequences to God our righteous judge. Though they suffered persecution, they didn’t give up. This could have only been possible by the indwelling of the HS. When Jesus was insulted, He didn’t react. He suffered mockery & flogging, soldiers even gambled for His clothes. When He suffered, He did not threaten revenge. Instead, He entrusted Himself to the one who judges fairly. Forgiving someone when they have caused harm or pain is a difficult thing to do, but Jesus sets the example for us to follow. He forgave those who crucified Him. He said “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do”If we don’t forgive others our fellowship with God is hindered. Since God commands us to forgive, we must make a conscious choice to obey God and forgive. If we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us. Anger and hatred in our hearts will not bring us peace or joy. Even in the Lord’s Prayer it’s said “Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.” Jesus instructs us that we must love even our enemies. It’s not enough to only forgive but we must also forget. That’s imperative bcoz when we repent God never keeps record of our wrongs. O Lord, who would be able to stand if you kept a record of our sins? But with you there’s forgiveness. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds, I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” declares the Lord. The spirit of forgiveness is a virtue without which we will never fully obtain the blessings we can receive. If we truly love God we will obey Him & forgive others.

The practice of biblical forgiveness was the least of the principles I ever found realistic. Today a door of possibilities has been opened. You have modelled theory and practice on the truth of the bible. May God bless your work.

A heart rending & moving msg! Amy Carmichael loved Christ early in her life n taught the Bible to the destitutes in Belfast. Her missionary calling came thru contacts with the Keswick movement She became a missionary in Japan, Ceylon n then in India. In South India she came across young children abandoned by their mothers who were exploited n made to serve as temple prostitutes. Amy wld dress like an Indian n walk into temples n rescue hundreds of girls frm abuse n prostitution. She provided them with a home called Dohnavur fellowship, gave them education n shared the gospel n the love of Christ. She relied strongly on God’s word n prayer. She lived a simple life n though she had to face many health challenges she persevered till the end with dedication bcoz of her great love for Christ her Savior n Lord n laid down her whole life for Him. Temple prostitution was banned towards the end of Amy’s life. Amy always followed the principle of taking the lowest place instead of seeking honor n recognition for herself. Amy’s life is a reminder to us to walk the humble path that Jesus walked n be willing to surrender our lives to Him, to be His hands n feet in His kingdom n ask God to use us for His glory.
